Went to see (well actually snuck in after NEMO!) it today...I was pretty mad because all the little 4 year olds and their 30-40 year old parents in town showed up to see it today. We got the first 3 seats at the VERY FRONT of the theatre!Well, after the first 15 min of 3-D, my eyes started hurting, and the movie looked purple (I had to take my glasses off to see the colors. I wasn't really watching the movie, I just liked the 3D effects (though I'd take a DLR 3D movie anyday...I was pleasantly surprised that the 3D glasses were made of a hard carboard rather than a flimy type...and they had a elastic band to hold them on your head. I plan to take them with me so I can sneak in to another movie next week.

That's what you get for theater hopping.

Re: Spy Kids 3D
Well, it came in at #1 this weekend, well over Laura Croft.

Yeah, it probably beat Lara Croft too.

Lumberjack Rabbit being the exception.

Re: Spy Kids 3D
The movie did exceedingly well this weekend. I was shocked. It beat out a couple of highly publicized movies in Tomb Raider and Seabiscuit, although to be fair, Spy Kids had a higher theater count. It almost matched its cost this first weekend alone. See, you don't have to overspend to do well at the box office.
POTC was #2. It was an excellent weekend for the film divisions of Disney.

Re: Spy Kids 3D
Seabiscuit was showing in only around 2000 theaters. It made a higher per screen average than any movie this weekend.
No need to feel sad.

Here is a link to look at the numbers, which show Spy Kids #1, POTC #2, and they also show the theater counts, which as I said in my earlier post show that Spy Kids had a higher theater count than either Tomb Raider or Seabiscuit.

That reminds me. If Spy Kids 3D did this well for opening weekend, how well did the "Smell-o-Rama" Rugrats do? Probibly not that well...
