where did all the rats go?

does anyone remember that guy (i think he was the owner of the building or some type of inspector) who walked around making sure vents and holes were sealed correctly? i just remember it had something to do with rats. anyway, an episode later, someone found a rat in the kitchen. eeewwwwwww! kinda made me think of goofy's kitchen (just kidding)

    Re: The Restaurant

So once again I missed the first part of the show. I can never remember when it's on and I was busy watching The Man Show.

But, for those who saw it, what was the new procedure ("Captain" I think it was called)?

And I cannot believe that that comedian guy made terrorist bombing jokes and actually used the words "The best thing about them..."

Season finale next week. I wonder what Rocco has up his sleeve.

I guess it's a system they use in finer dining houses (at least, that's what the wait staff was saying). The restaurant was divided into four sections, with one captain for each section. The captain would basically be the waiter for all the tables in that section, with the regular wait staff backing him/her up (becoming glorified runners, as they said). I don't know when you tuned in, but it was a disaster the first night, as the guests didn't know who their waiter was and, as usual, the food was getting lost (although that might have been due to a computer problem). Rocco played waiter the next night to see how it worked. The show never resolved whether or not the new system was going to stay.

I saw that it was a disaster, with the customers not knowing who their waiter was. Just didn't know what the new system was exactly. Thanks!

    Re: The Restaurant

Did anyone see the final episode? If not here's what went down:

It was like the best night everyone ever had. A couple got engaged and a table of African American women did commentary throughout the whole episode basically. I'm shocked at how much the waiters and Rocco flirt and kiss and grope the guests!

A 10 year old player boy hit on like 4 waitresses that night.

They hired a new waitress who was HOT! She was your typical blonde and that made the other hot blonde jealous.

Rocco's "last trick up his sleeve" was taking everyone who worked at the restaurant on a trip. They went to the beach and had lobsters and stuff.

Then he did a summary of his opening, expressed how proud he was that they pulled off something in 6 weeks (?) that normally takes years. Then he said the next time we'll see him and the restaurant will be a year later to see how he did.

Thanks for the recap, I saw it, it was one of the better reality shows, vs. the blah that is called Joe Millionaire or Paradise Hotel or Temptation Island. I didn't really mind American Juniors and American Idol.

Thanks, Santa Monica! Wow--that sounds like a completely different show from the previous weeks.

    Re: The Restaurant

Yeah, it turned out pretty lovey-dobey and seemed like everything worked out.

Oh and something I forgot. That waiter who did the comedy show, he got demoted to dishwasher... where it seemed like he enjoyed it more.

And how many episodes were there of The Restaurant anyway? Seems like there were only 4.

I think there were six; I missed the first and the last one.

I'm wondering, if it was successful, if they'll do a different restaurant next time? I was thinking it would be interesting to get more in people's personal lives, just as long as it didn't become too much like a soap opera.

    Re: The Restaurant

This last episode was pretty contrived. Last week, they all hated each other, this week, everyone loves each other (except the two blondes).

And that kid? God, was he obnoxious. I guess they were quickly running out of material.
