Lightbulb TV Triva? Not really... Setting: Disney

I keep forgetting to post this up here!

Okay, here's the deal. I was channel surfing one afternoon and saw a rerun on the local station of the old show Family Matters. You know, the one with Steven Urkel?

Anyway, the rerun was where Steve was invited to Epcot to participate in the World Science Fair at Innoventions (back when it and the ToT was new). His invention was that port-o-john looking thing where it would change his genetic make-up and make him all cool.

Well, seeing that episode made me start to think.

How many other shows have had their setting be at a Disney park?

I know that in Full House they had one at Disneyland. In it Mary-Kate and Ashley's character (whose name escapes me right now) "woke" Genie and got three wishes. I think the first one was to be able to skip the lines at any ride she wanted. This was way pre-FastPass.

So that's 2 so far. Any other shows that anyone can remember where the setting was in a Disney park?

I know Sabrina the Teenage Witch went to Animal Kingdom. I think that old show Step by Step with Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Sommers went to WDW Magic Kingdom.

Boy meets World went to Disney World. Topanga won a contest to go, and Cory and Shawn went along to convince her that she and Cory should be together.

Cory and Shawn sleep in Splash Mountain logs and ride on Tower of Terror.

ALso, a special appearance by Stacie Keanan of "Step by Step" fame (Dana).

Oh yeah, I remember the Boy Meets World one now. Didn't Cory and Tapanga kiss in front of Spaceship Earth while Illuminations was going on in the background?

    okay, that's 5 so far.

What was the reason Sabrina and Step by Step decide to put their setting at a Disney park? I mean, what was the main/basic plot?

In the Sabrina one, she still hasn't received her witch's license. In order to get it, she has to do magic without using her finger. She has to make a potion so her instructor sends her to AK to collect the herbs necessary for the potion.
The Step by Step one I don't remember as well. That was a long time ago. But from what I remember, Karen enters a singing contest being held there and all the other girls in the family act as her back-up singers while the men in the family wander around the park.

    Cool

I think that it was about ten years ago that they taped a show of, "Blossom", at Disneyland; don't remember the plot though. Also that same year ,"Full House", was also there. Don't know why they were there either just that they were riding the old sky-way buckets.

The "Full House" cast went there as a birthday gift to one of the daughters I think. Don't quote me on that, cause I have yet to stumble upon that rerun on the local stations here.

    *Adds Blossom to the list*

Okay, that makes 6 shows with settings in a Disney Park.

    actually...

If I'm right, this is sad....

Full House - Jesse sang for Rebecca while he was there, it was supposed to be a vacation just for them, but everyone went. It was WDW, not DL. DJ had a dream at one point inside the Indy show that Indy was Steve (oddly, the voice of Aladdin later), Michelle cut in front of Stephanie and got her way (as usual) and won the Genie prize of three wishes, final wish going to Stephanie and her to be in the parade together, and I think, but am not certain, that's the episode that Danny proposed to Vicky during (never married, thank goodness).
(Side Note: If you didn't already know, John Stamos is a RIDICULOUS Disney nut. He bought the Disneyland marquee off of ebay! He appears at the parks quite often, although I've never seen him. I'm sure he loved this episode. One of his favorite dates with his wife, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos was at Disneyland, actually - guys, eat your heart out. )

Family Matters - 100% right, funny as all heck, and dang! was he hot! (sorry, childhood fantasy moment)

Boy Meets World - I thought I watched every episode religiously, I must have missed that one or something, although I remember some small parts.

Sabrina - While the "A" storylines were always about her witching license, the "B" storyline was actually a class trip because her annoying Vice Principal, Mr. Kraft, was there along with friends and that stupid cheerleader character (who accidently got turned into a goat or something). You were right about the "A" storyline being that she needed to make a potion without her magic finger tricks But they were in WDW to start off with because of a class trip of some sort.

(Off Topic - One of my favorite theme-park-related episodes of a television show was when "Out of This World" went to Universal Studios and Evie Garland got caught with King Kong and in the flash flood.)

Wasn't he already casted as the voice of Aladdin when this episode came out? I mean, Disney a good 95% of the time puts out a parade or something (in this case the Genie float) out after the movie as their way of promoting it in-park.

LOL - I didn't even think of that "doh!" And I'm a huuuuuge "Aladdin" nutcase (I'm not kidding, my friends won't watch the movie with me because I quote all of the lines, it's sad).
