Progress of re-opening MouseInfo

Hello everyone,

First, I would like to say thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding during all of our downtime since late November due to the server hack. We are making progress on the web pages but it is taking longer than I expected. Jennifer and I have been out of town on a pre-planned WDW vacation and have just returned. And in a few days, we are off to visit family for the holidays which will delay us even more.

A few individuals have been working with Jennifer and I getting the server secured, getting a new e-mail program up and running for the entire staff, and fixing countless bugs with this new sever and all the new software. I would like to publicly thank Raisun & Sydney for their countless hours away from all of our friends and not to mention the Disneyland Resort. Without their help, we would be even farther behind.

We will begin a few updates this weekend and hope to resume our Disneyland updates the upcoming weeks.

As some of you have noticed the opening page of MouseInfo has returned. As well as I have completed some other links from the opening page.

We received a lot of donations over the past few weeks which allowed us to purchase the e-mail software, a back-up hard drive which will sit on my office desk here at home in case this horrible event ever happens again. So a special thank you goes out to everyone who has donated these past few weeks.

I will be working with Raisun & Sydney to schedule some routine back-ups and will update everyone because it will mean some down time to complete these back-ups.

Was it a server vulnerability or a loophole in one of the many PHP scripts on this site? If it was the server, perhaps a new host is in order?

I would prefer to keep the matter private, however, it wasn't anything related to PHP.

Thank you so much Michael & Jen, Raisun & Sydney for everything you guys have done and are currently doing. It means a lot knowing you guys are ever so dedicated in the work you guys do in giving us a great community and site. You guys have sure raised the bar in my view of dedication and kindness. Sadly I don't have the option in doing my part in helping as much as I should, but I hope that changes real soon. I really want to give back to a great site that has given me so much. Nevertheless, it is so great in seeing so many others giving back and showing that true giving spirit during this time. What a great community we have!

Once again, thanks a bunch for what you're doing and for keeping us updated! Keep up the great work! You guys have done outstanding thus far!
