Hong Kong, September 17 2009 — A dark force is back and this time it’s brought the Alien Invasion with it! An alien spaceship has crash landed in Tomorrowland as predicted by Hong Kong Disneyland’s Alien Intelligence Agency. From September 18 to October 31, those who dare to visit Haunted Halloween and investigate the crash site will find out the reason of invasion.
Remain Calm… if you can at Alien Invasion
After investigation, the “Alien Intelligence Agency” has reported that the spaceship is fraught with danger and signs of alien life forms. In the chilling interior of the spaceship, the Agents have uncovered secrets from outer space in its various dark chambers apparently used by the aliens for all kinds of sinister experiments.
The Agents have also discovered spacesuits which appear to indicate that the aliens were preparing to launch an attack. As the Agents ventured deeper into the crash site, a terrifying chamber was found containing the eggs of an unknown alien species ready to hatch at any minute. The search of the spaceship ended abruptly when the Agents were attacked by the aliens. The Alien Intelligence Agency is now recruiting daring Guests to board the spaceship and continue the investigation. Guests are advised to remain calm and watch out for alien encounters.
The Dark Force is Invading Every Corner of Hong Kong Disneyland
As the dark force spreads beyond Tomorrowland to the rest of the Park, ghostly souls have returned to the Main Street Haunted Hotel, and explorers have gone missing in the Demon Jungle. Every night, Jack Skellington[1] from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is rocking the Park with the Glow in the Park Halloween Parade. Screams are also being heard from those surrounded by ghastly ghosts and ghouls in the darkness of Space Mountain – Ghost Galaxy.
“Haunted Halloween has been very popular since it was first introduced in 2007, and Hong Kong Disneyland is committed to making Halloween bigger and even scarier this year with five major attractions. We are offering 44 consecutive days of spooky fun, making it by far the longest Haunted Halloween event period.” Frederick Chan, Director of Marketing, Hong Kong Business, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
“This year, we set ourselves the task of creating a very unique Halloween experience using the imaginative theme of Alien Invasion as the storyline,” he added, “The Guests’ experience has been planned meticulous care along with their probable psychological response to the scary factors. There is no doubt this all-new attraction will make Guests feel like they’ve stepped into a Hollywood movie.”
In addition to the three major walk-through attractions, ghost galaxy coaster and parade, Disney Villains as well as special Halloween characters such as the Pumpkin Men, Gatekeepers and Pirates are waiting to meet with Guests at the Scary Photo Fun locations. At Haunting Memories of Your Disney Friends, Guests will meet their favorite Disney Characters wearing spooky Halloween costumes including Jack and Sally from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, and Chip & Dale.
On weekends, Guests who can crack the clues on their Halloween collector cards will be able to find hidden loot and decorate their cards with all new stickers at special “Trick or Treat” locations. Guests who want to draw their own frightful pictures of Disney Characters may find inspiration at Animation Academy.
Haunted Halloween Day and Night
More ticket options are available this year for adventurous Guests to explore the mysterious happenings at Haunted Halloween. Special Evening Tickets starting at HK$228 are perfect for Guests to explore the eerie attractions from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Those who opt for a fuller experience may purchase One Day Tickets for HK$350, allowing them to enjoy the thrilling experience of Haunted Halloween from day time till the Park closes.

The tour package starts at HK$1,688, and includes a customized experience with Disney tour hosts providing priority entrance to the Haunted Houses and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. The tours also come with a special meet-and-greet session with Disney Characters where Guests can snap pictures capturing their exclusive experience.
“Since early September, we have launched an all-round promotion campaign. Our TV commercial for Haunted Halloween was specially directed by Hollywood film director Jim Sonzero, whose work created the maximum thrill to entice our audience. We are also working with various partners to leverage our promotions including mobile phone games, and free mobile wallpapers with one2free. Our sales network has also been expanded this year. Evening tickets are now available at a greater number of convenient locations, thanks to our collaboration with Circle K and MCL cinemas,” added Chan.
An Immersive, All-round Halloween Experience
The dark force has spread beyond the attractions in the Park. Guests can find delicious ghoulish themed food and beverages at various outlets throughout the Resort. Those who want a memento of their scary experience at Haunted Halloween will be delighted with over 160 Halloween merchandise items including “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and Mickey Family themed merchandise.
The two Disney-themed hotels have arranged special activities for kids so they can take part in the excitement of Halloween. Hong Kong Residents can also explore a Haunted Weekend Vacation and enjoy a one-night hotel stay & Halloween supper at the starting price of HK$659 per person.
