What the Heck is Wrong with KTLA 5??? :D

This morning, I turned my TV to channel 5 (KTLA), and they have a report on Disneyland's Fastpass system. Well, not only did they use old pictures including: the old Disneyland sign, Rocket Rods, and the Main Street Station with the sign reading "DISNEYLAND POPULATION 300,000,000." 300,000,000?! That shot must've been from the early eighties!!! And the report was about the "new" Fastpass System. FP has been at Disneyland since 1999 or 2000, but apparently, KTLA was never informed about that. Yes, they think it's brand-new. Quote newsanchor, "It won't literally get you to the front of the line, but you will get on the ride without waiting." That's just plain sad. Not only that, but a few minutes ago, one of the newsanchors asked about rollercoasters. Here was the conversation:

Newsanchor 1: "Are there any rollercoasters in Orange County?"
Newsanchor 2: "Uh, yeah, Knott's Berry Farm."
Newsanchor 1: "What about Magic Mountain?"
Newsanchor 2: "Yes, they have a rollercoaster."
Newsanchor 1: "Oh, Knott's. Ghostrider."
Newsanchor 2: "Yeah."

That's extremely sad. These guys weren't joking. I guess they don't get out much. "Magic Mountain has a rollercoaster..." That's the stupidest thing I've heard all day. (Of course I've only been up for an hour.) Oh, and Disneyland Resort has 6 rollercoasters. Well, I just thought everyone should hear about this wacky news program!

I completly agree, you beat me to the post. They totally need to ge out more and being in LA relativly close to the park you'd think they could at least get some current file footage. They showed DCA so at least get some DL footage to match. They also need someone to help verify their facts before they speak. It was kinda weird....

KTLA also said that Rocket Rods had a Joystick in the front which let the car pop wheely's!!

I unfortunately watch the KTLA morning news pretty much daily, simply because they have weather and traffic reports fairly often. Most of the rest of the time, I just sit and wonder how someone as incredibly stupid as Mark Kriski is allowed to live.

Just out of morbid curiosity, why were they reporting on Fastpass today? Was any reason given, or just that they decided it was "new" and time to talk about it?

Okay, this is how it works... Disney releases a press report and KTLA adds it to their news. Now, the news is not important enough to go out and shoot more tape on it so they just use previously shot file footage during the voice over. Now, 99 percent of the people have no clue about the signs or rides nor do they give a rats butt. And who says the reporters NEED to go wherever they are reporting and know everything. They reort on prostituton all the time, you suppose they pick up hookers for experience?

The second thing Disney fans, is that they were not talking about Fastpass, They were talking about SAP and the changes they just made. Since the general public does not know, it is newsworthy.

Just remember, you guys here are a minority. You have a love for Disney that some people would say is obsessive and sick.
