I can't believe my horrible luck!

3 weeks ago my wife and I had a son. James Edward Ohlson was born on May 4th. Right away we began planning on his first trip to Disneyland (because we knew it would coincide with the 50th anniversary and booking the Disneyland Hotel might be tight.) Most of my family lives in California (my sister and her daughter live about 20 minutes from the park) so it was going to be a kind of big thing to celebrate his 1st birthday in California. We wanted a character breakfast, all the birthday perks. We would stay 3 days (for a park hopper) arriving on the 3rd, going for James' birthday and staying for the 50th stuff on the 5th.

Now I find out that May 4th 2005 (my son's first birthday, a day that will never come again) will be the first time ever that Disneyland WILL BE CLOSED!!! I can't believe this! CLOSED!! it's just impossible! My luck CAN'T be this bad! (I guess I'm wrong there.)

All I have to say is Disneyland better be doing some MAJOR preparations for the following day to have it closed..............

Well. to be exact, it isn't the first time. Disneyland use to have dark days to keep the park running smooth. They should go back this. Sorry this happened to you,BUT, your kid will never know the difference. Life is a witch sometimes.

Back I think in the 70's, Disneyland closed regularly.
The only unscheduled closing was on Kenedy's assasination and when the "yippies" (not "hippies", but "yippies") trashed Disneyland.
Oh, and also on that one Halloween when the people in costume stole from the shops and basically trashed Disneyland.
