Have you all seen the pictures of the new cover over Ghostrider's first drop!? I think it looks stupid, but decide for yourself. See the pictures here. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on the new covering.

I never want to look at that coaster again! Oh well I'm glad I have ridden the ride without it. Karnever, I don't think the residents of Buena Park were complaining, i use to walk to knott's and I know the people around there. I doubt that they were complaining about the noise. Ghostriders been there for about a year and a half and don't you think something would've happened before now?
Frankly I just think Cedar Fair wants its coaster to look a little more like California Screamin'. heheGawrsh

I don't understand how that little bit of cover would curb the noise anywhoo?! It is very ugly. I had to laugh about some of the comments over at the other site you posted. Someone said something about Ostrich Crap! LOL They just totally speak their mind don't they!!LOL

Noise reduction...ha ha, they need sumthin better then that. Sumone told me that since Goastrider is a mine train theme type of rode...going through the tunnel is like going through a mine tunnel. But the tunnel realy makes the drop semm so much faster. i love it, i know i would rather have G.S. tunnel free but it isnt so bad.

LOL, I am a huge GhostRider fan.
But it's funny to see all of you defend Disney when they do it in Anaheim (California Screamin and Maliboomer), but react negatively when it's in Buena Park.
Remember how Disney built a parking structure, forgetting to cover it's escalators? LOL
I think the ride will be the same experiance, it always was. I can't wait to go again!Darren

The tunnel also give the ride a bigger thrill, try putting your hands up on this drop....it looks like your going to hit the top of the tunnel!!! Its so kewl!
You can see more pics for the tunnel here at Beary Tales.com http://www.bear-ytales.com/newatknotts/new.htm

Well, first I have to say that as a resident of Buena Park, I have not heard one complaint about Knott's Berry Farm noise...maybe a few people complain, but none that I have heard. There aren't to many houses around that area...so, I need to defend that part of the argument...
I cant say that I approve of that tunnel design though...why silver on top?? i agree that it should have been a wooden tunnel, if there is a need for one at all...
I cant see the reason they added the tunnel being noise though, since it is only on the first drop of the whole ride...I know when I ride GR, I scream the whole time! And others do as well...the first drop noise is nothing when you compare it to the rest of the noise level on the ride...I really cant think of any reason for adding the tunnel...unless to add the whole effect of going down, like wildrider said...
another little note...I havent been to Knott's since I quit back in Oct...I really need to go again! What makes us unique are our imperfections
