OK, this is NOT a fun story from the LA Times about cops looking for people who hurt kids.
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...home-headlines
The weirdest thing about the article is this quote:
Just terrible stuff, though. On one wall is a "Star Trek" poster with investigators' faces substituted for the Starship Enterprise crew. But even that alludes to a dark fact of their work: All but one of the offenders they have arrested in the last four years was a hard-core Trekkie.

THAT is incredibly sick and twisted.
I too am thankful someone is out there doing something about this. I dont know if i would have the stomach to sift thru those photos and try to track down these people from small clues knowing that every second longer it takes me to make a connection is another second the child is in danger and being abused.
But on the flip side why was it CANADA that went to Gates to set this system up? Why didnt we try to do this? Are we doign all we can to protect our children?

Maybe it is because Canada has a more mature look at life. We here in America tend to turn a deaf ear to things that make us uncomfortable. Our news is sanitized and presented by "pretty boys and girls". We need to mature up. Take on this ugly crap, quit being so doggone tolerant of deviant behavior, and get some guts about standing up against things that are clearly evil.
Everyone says I'm grumpy. Do you find me grumpy?

Canada takes crime involving children very seriously. We have so many great preventative measures set up of any and all cases of harm against children. I think one of the best systems we have is the amber alert system. This system is ineffect when a child is reported to be missing or obducted. On all canadian radio stations, at teh bottom of television screens and above the highways on LED monitors are giving statistics about the child, who the obducter is expected to be and their composate, as well as any vehicles and lisence plates to watch for. It really is a great system, because it goes into effect minutes after a child is taken.

We have the Amber Alert system here, too. Sounds like yours is much more in depth, though. I don't ever re-call them actually *gasp* interrupting a TV program with running information on the suspect. We do have large signs on the freeway, though, that give the make/model of the car.

Plus that amber alert is pretty effective. Everytime its on traffic slows down and people read it. Its a great way to spread the word.If you're going through hell, keep going. --Walt Disney

I just don't understand the star trek thing at all. Why?
But it makes me wonder. There are a lot of adults hanging around here with disney stuff. A lot of them are gay, some aren't. Is that a problem in this "community" as well? I would think that if you were trolling for kids, Disney would be a prime choice for a pedo to go to.You may contact me via jonvn@nadelberg.com.
