Another thing of note is that recent studies have shown that gingivitis also leads to heart disease. So not only do you have nasty, bleeding gums, you die! Hurray!
I saw this in magazines and pamphlets all over my dentist's office so it must be legit.
I'm with jonvn as I can also not stress enough the importance of oral hygiene and oral health.
Word of the day: oral.

I wish I had the wisdom to have taken better care of my teeth in my youth. It is probably my one and only regret(I'm not a regretful person either). I have paid many painful dues throughout my life for my poor oral care taking.

My wisdom teeth haven't even come in yet but I am getting them pulled next month, so that means they have to dig into my gums to find those buggers and then yank them out. YAY!

I still have my wisdom teeth and they have been coming in for a few years. They tend to hurt for a few weeks then settle down and stop moving. The dentist said this is quite common. So Roger maybe they will settle down for you too. You should have a dentist look at them. I need to have mine removed, but my bank account says otherwise.
A friend of mine got really lucky and didn't have ANY wisdom teeth. Lucky bum.

I just got my upper wisdom teeth pulled out about a month ago. He numbed my teeth, but it felt more like someone was poking me than needles. Then he took his tooth pulling tool and just started wiggling them out. One of the tooth, he had the drill on the side to get a better grip. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. But I kept bleeding bad for about 6 hours or so. Then you have the feeling of empty holes in your gums for a while until they get naturally filled up in a couple weeks.
Coming up next year: my lower wisdom teeth (he said these are harder to get to).
Oh yeah, I was fully awake for the pulling.
Even though sometimes people can keep their wisdom teeth, my dentist highly recommends and wants to pull them out. Also, my wisdom teeth came out straight, so they only hurt a little when they were breaking through the gum. Overall, it didn't really bother me.*NEW*-Ideas to IMPROVE Mickey's Toontown: http://www.mouseinfo.com/forums/mousellaneous/78589-ideas-improve-mickeys-toontown.html

Had my teeth pulled this morning. I was nervous, but they said I had nothing to worry about. They stuck a needle in my arm and 1 minute later I was in the car on the way back home.
The healing part sucks. My gums bleed then stop, I eat some pudding and they start bleeding again. I've got the gauze back in. No swelling, no bruises, no real pain. I did take one Ibuprofen.
Overall, it was an easy procedure made possible by knocking me the hell out.Just here. Nowhere.
