Why couldn't you get them? What the heck is the difference between a free agent and a waivered player? THAT I don't understand.
I know that one morning I came on and saw that there were players available. I thought to myself "my goodness"....that if it wasn't me picking someone up, it would be someone else picking them up. Hell, I saw Carson Palmer out there, I could have picked him up just to keep someone else from getting him.
Honestly, I think it's all a matter of checking things. Maybe next year there is an email system that alerts EVERYONE when someone has been dropped...so that you just don't "happen" upon it. I don't know, is that available?
Perhaps this is a downfall of having money involved, people start getting angry and pointing fingers.

I'm in for next year. Are you thinking of getting the stat pack with entry fees next year?
I unfortunately didn't notice the dropped players until they were snapped up already as well.

If everyone would want to forego a higher pay-out for the stat pack we could do that.
Next year I'll have to look into the whole waivers/free agents/can't cut thing.MouseInfo Moderator

Next year we'll just ask all the managers to retain their players. That should be pretty easy to do, yes?

How much is the stat pack anyway? Didn't someone get it for themselves this year? With 10 players at $20, we could keep the payout the same and use the extra $40 for the stat pack or other things.

I would like to keep the points settings we used this season, I think that worked out well this year.

I think that Sutty got the stat pack, but had it already through another Yahoo league he was in with his father in law.
That does sound like a good idea, though, Bob (regarding pay outs). I hope we can find two more that want to play. Perhaps Toby and I shall pop out two youngsters before next season!

Even though I added one of the players (a TE) that was dropped, I would be all for a rule/setting so that once a team was out of the playoffs they couldn't drop players. When I first saw the players were available I started thinking about that and was wondering if it would become a problem.
Hopefully this will help with the Waivers confusion:
Certain players (good ones) when dropped, go on waivers, rather than straight to being a free agent. The player remains on waivers for 2 days. The intended purpose of this is to allow everyone time to see a player on waivers that is now available. That way you don't have to try to get the player at an exact time that he is going to become available. During that time period, his name will have a W(Date) to indicate the day that he will become available. Before that date arrives though, you can indicate that you would like to add the player. You simply do it as you normally would and indicate who you want to drop, etc. If multiple people have tried to add the player, it is decided who gets the player by the Waiver priority. I'm not sure exactly how this is calculated, I think it has to do with draft order though. So, the owner with the higher waiver priority will have the player added once the waiver date is up.
I hope this helps. Again, it's been fun, as long as Cinder doesn't win

The Stat pack was only $10 and made gameday alot more fun watching my points/scores in realtime. Definitely worth it for anyone to pick it up on their own.
And I too think we should not be able to pick up any players from a team that has been eliminated from the playoffs next year. Of course, after losing McNabb, if I had seen Palmer in time, I would have snatched him up.
All in all, this has been fun. Yay!2011-12 MI Fantasy Football Team: Burning Sensation
