Exactly!
I have never once even tried a cigarette. But I have friends and family members that smoke, and I don't judge them poorly for it, it's their choice.
It's just so common, you can't completely avoid it - yet it seems people always have such strong opinions on it, and it'll probably always be that way.

And I'd also like to say that taxing the be-jeezes out of it isn't the right answer either. They just passed ANOTHER 80 cent tax in Arizona to fund pre-school for the poor initiative. The only reason they picked cigs to tax? Because, and I quote, "It polled well." Terrific. Meanwhile, the rise in taxes on cigs effects the poor much, much more than the rich. Well, I guess they'll have their pre-school taken care of for them!

Part of me wants to say no. Although I can't stand cigarettes it just doesn't seem fair. That's why I tend to vote against measures that purport taxes on cigarettes. While I wish there were more money for schools etc I don't think taxing cigarettes even more for that money is fair.
However, smoking invades personal space that's why there are laws against it. People tend to compare smoking to alcohol but I don't think that's the best comparison. Loud music does the same thing as cigarettes, it's annoying when it invades personal space of those that don't want to be subjected to it. If it's ok for music to be prohibited (with limitations) then I think cigarettes are fair game. Like music there are general allowances so the same should be made for cigarettes.Joey AKA "dlfreak"

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

I pretty much echo the sentiments of DF62 and Cinder. I also have never smoked.
