I hate to say it but I can relate.... I know people {teens mostly} my age or a bit older who are all hyped about going to Disneyland so I tell them all about it what not to miss and what not, then when they come home all the do is complain about the bad things and that "It's Disneyland it should be better than this" and I usually have to walk away before I explode. They don't realize the magic of it all and think some of my favorite things are Lame they think there's not enough "thrill rides" and All I can think of is 'if you wanted thrill rides you should have gone to Magic Mountian' or something. I think its just because they don't know as much about it as we do so they make fun of the parks and put them down for no appearent reason. Anyways I've almost quit trying to give people tips about the parks who don't love Disney because its just not worth it. They don't see the park the way that we do. But we know just how magical it is and how much work is put into it all the time. Because were cool like that

Well, I guess I havce found another "worts post ever on MI". But whatever...

I know exactly how you feel. Just tell the people, "Well, if you don't like it, leave!" or just try to explain to them why they can't have everything their way.

    Maybe they can take me?

I know what you mean. My parents give me a hard time about it just to bug me. Of course, they won't even take me.

I know it's difficult for you to accept that teens perhaps do not appreciate Disneyland as you do. But it really isn't their fault. It's part of their age group. DL is for families with little kids. And little kids and seniors like me, love the park for neither is looking for super thrill rides.

Teens want excitment and frankly Disney is a little tame for most of them. This is why there is Magic Mountain and Cedar Point with almost death-defying rides!

When I first visited DL, I was 18 in 1955, a teenager, and I thought it was nice, but not really very exciting. I prefered the thrilsl offered at old Pacific Ocean Park and Santa Cruz Boardwalk. So I went only occasionally until I reached age 50 and I think it is wonderful now. I don't care if a ride isn't terrifying, I love the dark rides, shows and general atmosphere.

I think one of the reasons that Disney built DCA was to have more rides that might appeal to teens like the rollercoaster, tower drop and raft ride. Maybe not enough yet, to please most teens. But don't expect DCA to ever close down MM!

Anyway, enjoy Disney with your family and let your teens have a blast at Magic Mountain if that is what they want, at least now.

My family vacationed in FLA every year in FEB during the 60's. We left the snow in Massachusetts behind and stayed with grandparents near Tampa and Miami. One year we drove thru what was rumored to be a Disneyland in FLA. I was thrilled, I had only seen home movies of Disneyland my uncle took in 1963. As I had Grandparents in FLA, I was sure I would get to DW. Never happened.I went once for one day, while staying in Ft Lauderdale. Of course by then I was not a kid, and just past being a teen, I loved it. I didn't get back till 1995, been every year since.
