    the o.c.

    is anybody watching this show? it's into the 2nd episode and i find that i kind of like it. i was a huge 90210 fan, watched it for the whole 10 years, and although fox is trying to say this show is the same - it isn't. the only similarities between the shows is the unrealistic amount of wealth and freedom these "kids" have. otherwise this show is a little more gritty. and the main character looks like a very young russell crowe - which is a little disturbing.

    it all takes place in newport beach, and i think they should really change the name of the show to "newport beach". i mean i know newport beach is in orange county, but gimme a break not ALL of oc looks like newport beach! :rolleyes: what do u guys think?

    i was surprised that I actually like this show. Its pretty good. But I hate all of the rich kids. they annoy me :rolleyes:

    I know it takes place in Newport Beach, but from some of the shots I have seen it looks like it was filmed up in Malibu. Can anyone confirm if this show is indeed filmed in Newport?

    The OC Register had a story on it. It was not filmed in OC as that would have doubled its budget. It's filmed in LA County. (imdb.com lists Malibu and Palos Verdes as filming locations.)

    Yeah.. Let's not film the O.C. in the area it's supposed to be based. What the heck!? How could they talk about Fashion Island in the first epioside and not have it filmed there?
