Re: Space Mountain Sign Installed

Wow. At first I was thinking "wow, that looks like something they brought back from the warehouse", then I thought "WOW, that DOES look like something they brought back from the warehouse"! I love it, makes me remember the things I used to love about Disneyland!

Hmmmm... good point Cinder, am I sensing a pattern here? The Tiki Room's new sign, very retro, and now the Space Mountain sign. Although, I think this new SM sign is to maintain consistency with the surroundings. It really ties in well with the area and also continuity with the Star Tours signage. Well done WDI. I think they have been making some great choices with the challenges they have been presented with.

Re: Space Mountain Sign Installed

Yeah, hats off to WDI! Tomorrowland is looking amazing, as is the rest of the park. Team Disney Anaheim sure has brought the park back to the level it once was. I get so excited to hear and see all these improvements.

I think the new sign looks great. Cant wait to see what they do with the rest of the ride. Just hope the keep the space com chat at the end of the ride, like listening to that .

Re: Space Mountain Sign Installed

It does look kinda retro, but more Tron than retro Space Mountain. Remember, the original Space Mountain sign was just a bold helvetica sign!

Yeah, Hurray for Disneyland! They seem to be doing pretty much everything right lately.

Re: Space Mountain Sign Installed

So will this sign "animate"? Michael also hinted that the sign would indicate when the ride switches to "Rock Mountain".

Spiffy new sign, very purty at night.
