I like the new SM sign,but I kind of have a problem with the "retro" look it has,this is not retro-land,its tomorrowland,it should be futuristic not retro,just my opinion.

Ok. I have edited and deleted a few more posts, including one of my own so I can clarify something.

Even if an individual no longer posts at this site, I still do not think it is appropriate to make personal comments about other them. Regardless of whether or not some of the concerns raised here are valid; they have no place on these boards. This is a Disney forum and the non-Disney content of an individual's online photo album are of no concern to us. Take these kinds of discussions to PM or AIM or something.

I just don't know how you can make a sign futuristic. It's more simplistic, yes, but it's kinda just the look of the land right? The sign follows the general shape of the Star Tours sign.
I guess it could be more futuristic if it was a hologram or something innovative, but a sign is a sign right? I think it looks good, plus if the budget skimped on the sign to make the inside better, it's a fair trade right?!?!

I don't like the Space Mountain sign. It is WAY to 80s-ish, and just because Space Mountain was built in the late 70s doesn't mean that WDI should remain true to that in the land of Tomorrow. I prefer the old sign.

As I was looking at the Space Mountain sign I noticed something. Upon closer inspection, I could see the word "ROCKIT" (Rock it). Could this be for the purposed "Rockit" (Rocket) Mountain?

The word is hidden behind the word SPACE.

Sharp eyes, MC! I guess that confirms that rumor...

I figured that was one of the reasons they went with a sign like this. The only drawback, though, IMO, is that it's hard to see in the daytime, with the afternoon sun shining on it.

Very nice observation. I was thinking about that when someone mentioned the sign was "fiber optic," ala the Tower of Terror sign.

It also looks as though there is a space between "ROCK" and "IT." So it was not Rocket as we have heard before.

It does kinda sound odd. I wonder if this has to do with the Rock genre of music or of a rock (as in meteoroids), or both.

Wasn't rockit mountain suppose to run at night? If so I would think it would be complete along with the rest of the attraction. Anyone?
