I'm just astounded by how i was looking at the pictures thinking this could be anaheim!! The replication in some parts (main street etc) is so lovingly done I'm just very proud that the park they wanted to replicate is CA's disneyland... it's great. Thumbs up from me....

How many rides does this park have? 7? 8?
They may be Chinese, but they can't be stupid. Surely when a Chinaman wants to shell out some big bucks and go to an amusement park for the day he's going to want to go on at least a dozen rides or so. Right?
Where are the rides?

Thanx for the HKDL photos! Wonderful to get a look at the new park. It does look 'lite' and flat so far; the opposite of way the Imagineers pumped up things for EuroDisneyland. The setting does seem spectacular though. Thanks again for the pix, and BTW, what is up with the crowds now - are they having soft openings already, or was this open for cast and crew one day, or what?

I think the park is beautiful,I love how it looks like the original Disneyland, its kind of a cool tribute to the CA park.I do agree with others when they say it seems a bit short on attractions, but thats ok with me,Id rather them start small and build as demand grows,as opposed to starting off big and have another Euro-Disney disaster. As long as whats offered is quality,I dont mind.
while I love the scenery,I think the mountains in the backround sort of ruin the scale of the castle. It "works" in Anahiem because there isnt really a frame of reference,so the castle seems grand. However with the huge mountains in the backround it really dwarfs the castle in Hong Kong, minor complaint but something I definatly noticed.

Hi everyone!
Our photos were captured on June 12. This was a WDI Party where WDI could bring their families into the park. The park is no way completed. In fact, the park has not been turned over to Operations as of yet. So there is a lot of work left to be done.

As Michael said..Landscaping and many other decorations (i.e. banners, flags, signage, window displays, special effects, decorative elements) were still visibly missing from the Park. The Park was merely open for WDI families/friends to come as a 'thank you' for their hard work. At the time of the photos, there was still 2 more months of construction before the Park would be ready for soft openings.
Second... here are the Locomotive names:

I think the park is absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes the beauty of a park isn't so much in the rides, it's in the landscaping. Case in point...I much more enjoyed the Magic Kingdom in Orlando...the landscaping is gorgeous, the rides and the way they are presented, I wasn't impressed with.

I think the park looks nice. It is kind of weird how closely it resembles Anaheim. Fantasyland should have been done in a better syle than WDW's FL. They must really like Pooh to have a ride, a shop and a restaurant. Hopefully they will build more dark rides like Peter Pan, Small World and others. I know Autopia is already being built and will open after the park opens, but hopefully they will start building other rides soon.
