I read an article in the paper a few weeks back that stated that the hotels of HKDL have been selling out,I think this park is really gonna be a hit with the Chinese.Should be interesting to see how it unfolds.

On second inspection of the photos, I still love the setting, but I'm liking the castle less and less. It just bugs me that up until this point they had a different one at each "magic kingdom", and now that "tradition" is kind of...well, gone. It looks nice, and I know it's being marketed as a tribute to Disneyland (I don't exactly buy that, though), but I'm still not too pumped that now Disneyland's castle isn't the only one like it anymore.

I thought Tokyo and WDW had the same castle? I could be wrong though.

I absolutly LOVE LOVE LOVE their Tomorrowland. It is nothing like any of the other parks. Everything is whimsical kinda. The Comet Cafe and Starliner Diner are both very well done. The Astro Orbiter (is that it's name?) has UFO's for cryin out loud. Space Mountain has the coolest entrance out of all of them. With a few more rides in Tomorrowland (Star Tours, Autopia, Buzz...) , I think it could be the best out of all of them.

Even if that's the case, that still doesn't mean I like seeing Disneyland's castle photocopied. It just loses some of it's specialness to me now.

A lovely park, indeed. I would rather have a small park well designed and detailed than a larger one built with the same money. Great future potential. Unfortunately the Pooh ride looks pretty skimpy. Will be there opening week - anyone else?

Would you be so kind as to take photographs and write a nice detailed trip report when you get back? Maybe Michael will put it up on the front page...
