They must not think it's too bad, because they're doing another one in Shanghai.if Disney views the situation as a bad one, they shouldn't have signed into the deal that way.
Thing is they are getting a smaller park, to start, but I really don't see this as a problem. The people who live there are going to be the customers, not us. And as the park hopefully grows, they'll have much more to look forward to and return for as time goes on.

[quote=TP2000]Hi Marcie. Those two statements, originally separated by a couple of paragraphs, seem to completely contradict each other.

you obviously read things incorectly. I am sure that Marcie was trying to say that since the Chinese people are not familiar with these major attractions, not building them in the first phase would not be missed by them. If the majority of the population there in Hong Kong had been to one of the other magic kingdoms they would have something to compare and be disgruntled about but they do not.
She did not say that the attractions could not be built in the future only that due to budget constraints by the government those attractions could be eliminated for the time being and better concentrate on attractions that could be sold more easily to the public with a television show.

When i see posts like # 65 , 66, 68 it reminds me of a small child who just wants to argue to get attention.
Some people could be so annoying sometimes.
The more i see of this park the more inviting it is getting. The government and papers are already saying that thousands of people have been rushing to ride the new train just so they could see the courtyard in the front of the park. I think people in Hong Kong will be very apreciative of this new Magic Kingdom and its great to know that another corner of the world will apreciate the Magic of Disney.

Personally, I think that people expect Disney parks to open with too many attractions. I don't think there's anything wrong with opening small. It leaves a lot of room for expansion and it keeps the visitors coming back. I don't think it's an excuse for Disney to build cheap parks. Hong Kong doesn't look cheap to me, it simply has less attractions that it's older sisters. It took DL 50 years to have it's current line-up of attractions! I think people forget that and they expect new parks to open with just as many attractions.
I'm excited to see what's coming next for Hong Kong. I think it's off to a great start and will only get better as it adds more attractions.
