here is the article from Orange county register.
http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister...le_1221783.php
here is one interesting paragraph
"Grier and Ouimet worked together for Disney in Orlando, where their families attended the same church.
"This is a guy, as a leader, I have enormous faith in," Ouimet said of Grier. "He'll add to the legacy."

How about this one:
"Ouimet is moving to Connecticut, near the headquarters of Starwood in White Plains, N.Y. He said he plans to keep his family's home in Coto de Caza because he likes Orange County so much."
Maybe Mrs. Matt just wants to be on "Real Housewives of Orange County".

Its not being super sensitive, and I dont think anyone thinks its a bad thing,I just dont see any reason to bring up the fact that hes black, who cares? thats like saying "Ouimet has grey hair and blue eyes" beofre he started, why even bother? its silly.

People are just interested in the first black this, or the first woman that... It IS a race issue, but a positive one. These are what role models are made of.

I'm still confused. He's going from a top executive position in one department (Tokyo) of the company to a top executive position in another department (Anaheim) of the same company, right? I don't see how Mr. Grier taking this position at the DLR is new and interesting in terms of race.

07-26-2006 03:40 PM #120This is the first thing I noticed as well in some article or other I read. I've never met a numbers guy that had one ounce of creative instinct. But then there's Tokyo. But then how much was OLC and how much was him? We'll have to wait and find out.
