really? I distinctly remember when he came on board what a wonderful thing it was going to be for all the theme parks because of this and that.

Now, you hear things about how he's bad for the parks because of that and this.

What it boils down to is that these guys are all the same, they hire their own kinds into their ranks, and it all runs along about the same way it always has and will.

if that's true that he's black, I think it would be great

Especially because when Walt was alive, the only black people you saw working in the park were dressed as slaves, and did shoe shining on Main Street.

After a few years, they slowly let them do more things in the park, like work in the back corners, out of the way. Disneyland had for a long time assigned "cast member" roles to people based on their race. So you only saw asians working at the Tiki Room and Tahitian Terrace, black people as shoe shiners or other menial workers (and Aunt Jemima of course), and so on.

Sex was also a big determinant as to where you worked. Guys worked the Jungle Cruise, girls worked Storybookland. Only in the last few years has that changed.
