No I don't think the agency was/ is corrupt. But I do think this was planned, and hiring the agency was a sham. I don't feel that the board had any real intention of looking seriously at anyone else. This is just my oppinion, we'll know more once the reports get out.

Gotta disagree with you there,in order for that to be the case youd have to believe that Meg Whitman was in on it as she dropped out of the race on her own accord.I just find this whole sinister plot theory kind of out there to be honest.

I think they conducted an honest search that came down to 2 candidates,Iger and Whitman,when Whitman dropped out they just decided to do with Iger.

Nemo the outside firm was just there to give reccomendations not to pick a successor. What makes this whole situation fishy (and this has nthing to do with Iger) is that so call searches according to several news agencies an the wall street journal di not start till the beginning of this month. It has also been said that several of the possible replacements had suspiscions of the search since the board and Eisner himself had a full support for Iger before any of the reviews with other executives had begun. the board also said that interviews were done by them and that Eisner did not participate in the interviews but Whitman came out on record that she was not even interviewed until mid January and that during her interview Eisner was present. You also say that the search came down to two candidates. Iger and Wittman and that is exactly it seams like the board wants us to believe. What happen to Chernin and several other candidates that showed interest in the position. Even the wall street journal plus more than one analyst is claiming that the way the announcement was done seams premature. They ahve even gone as far as to say that Mitchell and the rest of the board just felt that it was time to give a conclucion to this problem that has been lingering over th ecompanies name since last years shareholders meeting and instead of continuing the process of evalution and search till june they pushed (using companies funds) to promote their liking of Iger to wallstreet and just end and put the decision behind them by playing it "safe" and electing Iger.

Mitchell is leaving by next shareholders meeting so he has very little to loose. So its up to Iger now to perform and cut those puppet strings from eisner. Lets hope that Igers sensible character also has a strong backbone that will take this company through the right path.


so far this announcement has not done much to impress wallstreet. the stock lingered throughout the day with a minor jump to re-cupe the drop earlier in the morning. stock open at 28.00 dropped down to 27.63 to close at 28.10 not much a previous close of 27.59. a .43 cent increase. its actually funny how the news headlines say Disney stock rises becuase of news of new ceo but if you follow the stock after so many years its depressing to see how much it has drop and can't even reach the $30.00 mark. (ok it so it reach 28.99 a few days ago but dropped again to the 27.00 shortly after)

wether wallstreet is waiting to see Iger prove himself, will know sooner than later cus he will have o do something soon to prove himself

There were several reasons reported for Whitman dropping out, among them was that she felt that the process with Disney was going nowhere, and she felt that they were not really interested in hiring her, they were just going through a process of formality. Stanley Gold also stated this in a phone interview from Paris on FOX news last night.

as of right now the stock is UP 73 cents

lets hope it stay that way and continues on a rise. the stock has been reaching high peaks for several weeks and closes down even before any announcement.

You see it just dropped. Stocks have minor fluctuations daily it all depends on how it closes and if it maintains its price.
