This is why I think WDI future never looked brighter.
From Jim Hill:
Wanna peek at Pixar's theme park "To Do" list? Go check out "Re-Imagineering"
Jim Hill directs you to a blog that's actually being run by some Pixar staffers who are actively soliciting opinions about what should be done to fix the Disney theme parks and Walt Disney Imagineering
Re-Imagineering
Great stuff.A forum for Pixar and Disney professionals passionate about the Disney Theme Parks to catalog past Imagineering missteps and offer up tenable practical solutions in hopes that a new wave of creative management at Imagineering can once again bring back the wonder and magic that's been missing from the parks for decades.

I don't know, that entire blog seems to be about resurrecting old attractions rather than creating a viable future for WDI.

I dont think Adventures Through Innerspace would be popular with todays audiences,WDI needs to come up with new fresh ideas, similar to whta they did in the mid 80s to the mid 90s with Star Tours,Indy,Toontown,Splash Mnt etc...they need to re-invent the industry, not re create it.
with that said,I have faith in the Pixar folks and I think they will do a great job,I think the reason you see so many old attractions on this website is because those are the easiest to talk about since they already exsisted.Lassetter and his team are probably not at liberty to discuss future DIsney projects that are still in blue sky etc.

I have to agree with Nemo ,WDI needs to come up with something new and not redo stuff from the past . I think with Pixar and Disney working together on projects they should have tons of cool ideas.Love the idea of the 20,000 leages subs that would rock!
Today's going to be a beautiful, busy day, and "we must keep our aim constantly focused on the future." —Walt Disney

In my opinion it takes NO creativity to dig up an old idea of an old ride and re-build it.Anyone can do that, but it takes real creativity and imagination to come up with a new idea that has never been done before.

I read the blog and was unimpressed. Is this the same Merlin Jones from SaveDisney.com? His ideas are utterly uninspired. While I love Mary Blair's tile murals, they have NOTHING to do with Tomorrowland. Move them somewhere else, like the Disneyland Hotel or something. Rolly Crump's modernist sculptures were cool, but incredibly 60's. Disneyland is NOT a museum. NOT. It is NOT.
Like Cliff said, no new ideas. Just a lot of fanboy wishful thinking about Inner Space and the Carousel of Progress, both of which are not good ideas. Give us something new, fresh and exciting.Jaleel White does not approve.

02-27-2006 01:05 PM #7I agree that pieces of art like Mary Blair's murals should be preserved somehow. She was a HUGE part of Disney animation AND the development of classic Disney attractions. I believe that there ABSOLUTELY should be some sort of "museum" (for lack of a better word) aspect of Disneyland. The place HAS to keep hold of some of it's herritage. That doesn't mean bringing back old rides, but let's not turn our back on the past entirely. Some things shouldn't be changed. The day Disney says "Let's replace Sleeping Beauty's Castle, it's too small" is the day I go to City Hall and cut my AP in half.

One Idea for the castle to celebrate the 50th was to add new spires and towers to Sleeping Beauty castle to make it taller. I don't know if this would have been permanent or temporary, but I thank God it was turned down.

Oh I agree with you df62. There should always be a historical aspect to the parks, but not on the scale proposed by this blog. Rebuilding Carousel of Progress won't help anything. It would be another underattended attraction taking up space and showing its age. Give me something new, fresh and exciting.
