    Cars Ride.

Just an idea but wouldn't it be cool to make a The CARS Movie into a slick track ride ?

If they did... it would seem like an "Adult Autopia". Basically an autopia without a track under you. However if the FantasyLand autopia was there... that would be a good place to put it.

While I have no problem with a Cars themed ride, I'm not sure about a slick track. Seems like slick tracks belong right along side minature golf courses and wouldn't quite be up to a Disneyland/DCA type of ride. You'd be getting back to the "carnival" type rides that have been part of the problem with DCA from the start. I could see them adding a slick track, along with some type of minature golf course (like at WDW) to the Disneyland or PP hotels.

I'd be more receptive to a Cars themed Test Track though I'm not hooked on theming anything after Cars yet (or the Incredibles for that matter). Movies should stand the test of time before they become rides...like Toy Story. Could you imagine if they created a whole land or rides around a movie like Home on the Range and then it flopped? Guests would have little or no attachment to the ride if based on an unpopular movie (IMO).

NO, leave Pixar out of DLR, it'd be cool to have a test track themed to CA hotrods, but not if we have to have Pixar charecters attached, lets break away from DPA (Disney Pixar Adventure) and focus on dCa

Maybe I'm going against the grain but I really don't see a problem with creating an attraction/show around a Pixar release. After all, it's a Disney film at the end of the day isn't it? The current batch of Pixar releases will most likely be considered Disney classics for future generations much the way some of us consider Snow White, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, etc. to be classics. My children (4 & 6) find rides like Buzz and Monster's to be much more enjoyable because they can better relate to them than Snow White.

In addition, I think the Pixar flicks lend themselves to rides much more than some of the other Disney classics like Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast and the Little Mermaid. For me, those movies lend themselves more toward stage shows or calm dark rides...much the way Disney has used them in the parks. What I don't want to see is an effort to shoe-horn a ride into a land just to get it into the park...especially at Disneyland. You could probably get away with it at an MGM or DCA to some extent but in general, let's try to stick to the overall theme of the respective lands and create rides that fit with that theme. A prime example of this is the rumored Monster's Inc ride that may be put into Tomorrowland at the Magic Kindgom Orlando. That doesn't fit to me. Even Buzz is a stretch here but at least it's science fiction based.

The bigger question is does Disney really need to create rides around a well known character or movie or should they get back to rides that themed and executed well enough that the guest doesn't still enjoys it without the tie-in. Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, The Matterhorn, Pirates, HM...all great examples of fantastic rides built around the immersive/well themed experience versus a familiar Disney Icon. In reality, they've become incons on their own.

If it was a Test Track attraction, yes. But a slick track/go-kart style ride probably wouldn't work. Way too much danger for a Disney attraction.

I think they should redo or Remodel Autopia to be the car's ride. Know I dont want to redo the whole rid eI mean like a new Q line, new car's that look like character's from the movie have the big TV playing CARS character's talking and so on. But redo do it like what thier doing to Pirates, not change the whple ride just putting a new twist on it.

I agree that and Pixar films tend to lend themselves much better to the look and feel of DCA then classic Disney characters (though I do think a few of those classic movies could make great rides I just don't think they belong in DCA)

as far as a Cars ride goes I'm going to say that while it would be cool I'm much more interested in this origional system being talked about for the Increadibles, DCA having something truly unique would be the best for the park I think (that and if they did a Cars Test Track thing then I can see East coasters calling DCA's ride a kiddy test track)

as far as origional attractions go, I mostly judge attractions by what went into it but I'll also agree that an origional attraction would be great, maybe they should think about adding another California history based ride after this (DCA Gold Rush era attraction) there are only two real attractions I can think of off the bat that actualy highlight the theme of the park so yeah

all in all I think I'll say no to Cars for now

How about we wait and see how the movie turns out first?
