What I'd like to see in 'Toontown'

In my opinion Toontown really needs another ride. So here's my proposal. We use the Spiderman system (because Disney could really use it). One of the reasons Spiderman works well is because it is cartoony so this system would fit perfectly in Toontown. We could theme the ride after an old Disney cartoon. My thought was the cartoon where Mickey, Donald, and Goofy go ghost hunting. We, the rider, play sort of first line of attack against any ghost calls and are sent in to beat the ghosts only to find that our weapons don't work and the ghosts really just want to try to spook us until Mickey, Donald, and Goofy break in and save us in the end. To accomplish the fall I was thinking that one of the ghosts could lift us up in an effort to keep us away from the heroes and then drop us. We land on bags of flour and cover the heroes in dough making them look ghost like and scaring the ghosts off (just like in the old cartoon). I think this ride would be a good combination of what worked well in Spiderman, what works reasonably well in Curse of Darkastle, and a great way to incorporate an amazing old Disney cartoon. So, what do you guys think? How would you tweak it? What scenes do we copy? I have the general idea, but I haven't seen that cartoon in so long that I really cannot remember all that happens in it. Input would be appreciated.

    Um, I don't think so.

    1) I don't think Universal & Disney ususally share new ride tech
    2) The Spider-man ride building is HUGE!! Where would you put it? Backstage? Then where do you put the backstage stuff?

Realistically, not gonna happen. But still an interesting thought.

Because of space issues they really cant put that many new rides in unless they take something out fit this ride you would have to take out the whole Downtown of Toontown.
But Its a great dies if they had space to put it there.
But keep posting your idea's because I love hearing people's idea's for new rides.

Thanks for the feedback about the space issue. It's been about eight years since I've been to the park so I really forgot how big or small the Toontown section was. Happy to say I am headed there over the summer. I was curious, is there anywhere in Toontown this sort of ride would fit? Say they have the model of the ghost hunters building connected to the hill where Toontown is written and actually bring you inside the hill for a portion (or all)of the ride without the rider ever knowing it (since it would be an enclosed ride). Would this work or is it just as hopeless? Honestly, I would really love to see Disney tackle this sort of ride just like Busch Gardens did. Plus I would also like to see another dark ride in Toontown. Thanks again for your replies.

I, and like others have said, think a dark ride would fit inside Mickey's house. I don't even go inside that house anymore. I feel like it's a waste. So maybe a new darkride with Mickey and the gang could work. I have an idea or 2 of what to do, but I don't feel like posting it right now...

Why spiderman? He's not a TOON.
They should realy bring in the bad guys of Disney and have a Villans square.

I really don't like when rides are suggested followed by the words "like USH does it" or "just like Busch Gardens."
But I like the idea of a new dark ride in Toontown. Maybe not in Mickey's house because that is a great opportunity for people to get a pic with the big cheese.

Behind Toontown, all along the back edge, there are large industrial buildings. I am sure there are cast members who know what the buildings are used for, but most likely for maintenance and storage. It is pretty amazing how tight things are back there. I don't even see the room for a dark ride at Mickey's house.

But as far as I am concerned, you could certainly scrap most of toontown and start over. That place is not the finest Disney development. I'd like to see something a bit more intelligent, for the kids, than character houses that offer little to do.

I think they can squeeze a dark ride in Mickey's house. And when I say Mickey's House, I mean using Mickey's House as a queue, and then the rest of the place (outside, garden, movie house) is for the ride. Part of the Chip n Dale House could be used, too. With this in mind, the attraction building size should be similar in size to Fantasyland dark rides. Er, put a new adult friendly Chip n Dale house (possibly with kiddie drop tower) in Goofy's Playhouse garden then return the Toontown Park as the kiddie playground.

I know the last sentence people will say "but they just finished the playhouse, etc..." but nevermind that.

Sorry I started this thread then didn't return to it in a while. Let me just go through and answer some of the posts that I hadn't gotten to. First off, in relation to Smitty-78 I don't mean use Spiderman (because Universal already has that) but just the sort of technology (dark ride/3d screens) because it works really well at Islands of Adventure. To club33az I realize the fears of copying other parks, but I still believe there is room for improvement on the technologies already used. I mean given that Universal opened up their ride quite a few years ago and Busch just did a lower rent copy, since it is only a seasonal park, I believe that we could do more with this technology and really up the ante. Even if this technology weren't used, I would still like to see another dark ride in Toontown and, personally, I would like it to be themed to one of the classic Disney cartoons (preferably the ones with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy because those were my personal favorites). So, now that we're talking dark ride in Toontown, what sort of ride are we looking for and what are some general ideas? I would like to hear what storyline you guys would like to follow for your ride.
