    DisneySky

This is talk about a 3rd theme park for TDLR. I kinda hope they don't do a studio park. Do something different. I did read about how they came up with TDS's park name. Since there was a DisneyLAND, they got a DisneySEA. DisneySKY would be consistent and ORIGINAL!!

Maybe have an attraction like Castle in the Sky. Maybe after concuring the skies, the park concures Space. I think it has potential if there's enough creativity. Make a "land" a space station. It's a bit old, but perhaps something related to "TaleSpin". Battle Space and Air pirates, haha. Encounter flying mythologictal and legendary creatures. Fly in Da Vinci's flying machine (ala hybrid of Peter Pan Flights & IOA's Jurassic Flyer attraction. Either indoor or outdoor, or even both). Put in the forgotten "Island on Top of the World" attraction plans. A hot air balloon could be good for family-friendly fun. Fly to exotic and remote locales (DisneySea is not entirely about water, it deals with sailing to exotic locales). A lame and cheesy slogan would be "Skies the Limit".

EDIT: Article on "Island on Top of the World": http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hi...05/30/616.aspx

Didn't Desert Bear come up with that idea a long time ago?

^ Honestly, I'm not really sure. I was reading the thread from mouseinfo, and someone said a DisneySky theme park can't be done. That it wasn't creative enough. I didn't want to see another copy cat theme park. So I started thinking what they could do with DisneySky. And that's how I ended up with this. I made this thread to get opinions.

Do you happen to know where the thread is from Desert Bear about a DisneySKy??

Im mixed on this idea,I just dont know how much you can do with a theme park themed to the sky/flight.I mean there are only so many Soarin,Mission Space type of rides you can add to one park.

I wouldnt mind see a Disney park with elements from DisneySea and DisneySky mixed in,I think that would be cool, but as its own park, hmm I dunno,Im not sold yet.

I don't mean to belittle your statement, Nemo88--just pointing out that given free reign (and a near-blank check from OLC), I'm sure WDI could come up with some neat concepts. And not all of them need to be specifically sky-related--as filmfreak11 pointed out, many of the Ports of Call at TDS are just places that you can sail to--not all the attractions are specifically water-based.

I could see a Mt. Olympus, from Hercules, standing in for Mermaid Lagoon as the "Fantasyland-ish" land. (Call it "Olympian Clouds" or something to reinforce the sky theming.) Throw in a captive balloon somewhere, like they have at DLRP. Lots of potential.

Follow the same type of model they used for Disneyland and DisneySeas. You need a Main Street, an Adventureland, a Fantasyland and a Tomorrowland.

Adventureland could be themed to the golden age of airplanes in the 20s and 30s - prop driven passenger planes, mail planes over the Andes (which ties in to Pedro the mail plane from Saludos Amigos), the China Clipper and barnstormers. You could even have a coaster or some other thrill ride based on old fighter planes.

The Fantasyland area could focus on things like the Hyperion from Island at the Top of the World, rides on fantasy creatures like a pegasus or a griffon, and even something like a big Neverland area that could be a kid's play area like TSI or RCCT.

Tomorrowland is of course space travel and test pilots.

I thought the guys name was "Meyers" he even had a Disneysky website.
It was a lot more avaiation based (from what I remember, Nemo you would remeber that guy. It was around the same time you and I discussed a "Disney's Heros and Villians" themepark) and less Fantasy then your idea.
