    Disney hotels make top list!

    From MousePlanet:

…Travel + Leisure Magazine ranked four Disney resorts on its annual list of the 500 best hotels in the world. Three Walt Disney World Resort hotels – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (scoring 83.10), Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (79.95) and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (79.31) – and one Disneyland Resort hotel – Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (80.60) – were selected. For more information on the rankings, read the Travel + Leisure article (link).
Very cool! And very well deserved, imo. Surprising, though, that the Grand Floridian isn't the top hotel. That's been the crown jewel at WDW forever!
And way to go, Grand Californian!!!

Shocked and dismayed that GCH edged out GF ratings wise. Having stayed at both on multiple occasions, I can tell you there is NO comparison between the two. The Grand Floridian is WAY nicer and much more luxurious than GCH.

And while GF is plush and fab, I'd rather stay at AKL. I can see why it beat out the others...it's so unique. Also luxurious, but so dazzling and extraordinary.

Also would like to know how MiraCosta and TDL Hotel didn't make the list. That poop is NICE.

I've only stayed at two Disney hotels in my lifetime: Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's Hollywood Hotel. Two of the best hotel experiences I've had at any hotel, particularly Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Such an amazing place to stay at. I could spend days just at that hotel and be very much content. Nice to see it on the list. Hopefully I'll get to stay at the other two, and more, one day.

I've never stayed at the AKL when I was there in October, but I did eat there (fabulous buffet - can't remember the name of the restaurant) and walked the grounds. Very impressive, just like the park it's named after.

The Grand Floridian is too sterile for me. I feel like I'm staying in a Victorian Hospital. It is incredibly nice, though.

Fell in love with AKL... that's where we bought our DVC ownership, an incredible resort and it's just so unique... how can you not like a savannah view room!?
