Re: Visiting TDL for the first time....

One of the things I noticed, or at least felt that I'd noticed, was that TDL seemed to be totally "flat"...no big sets of stairs or any sharp elevation changes of any kind. Even the sidewalk "curbs" in World Bazaar were just painted lines on the street. But TDS seemed to have elevation changes all over the place. I'm sure the ramps and such were there--perhaps I wasn't looking for them--but just walking around, I felt a strong difference between the two parks in that area. Probably just good theming...

Good theming! There are some ramps around the park, most notably in the hub area, but the World Bazaar curbs are not painted (as you can see on the pic below) They are two different type surfaces but flat in proportion, to make them walking and wheelchair friendly. I would say that TDS does have more stairs and uneven walkways, yet the park was designed with wheelchair access in mind. It's just that the japanese have not fallen pray of motor scooters and wheelchairs to the extent Americans have. Plus there is a great number of strollers in the park, but they are regular or small sized, as opposed to the single and twin seat trucks we have at WDW for example.

PS- Please NO! comments on the dirt spots on the World Bazaar floor which are rare and the only reason why I took this pic, because I was appalled at this unprecedented sight at near-perfect TDL.
