If you have never been to TD Resort and consider going there a "complete and total" waste of time, then I'm not sure why you're even commenting in this thread. To point out that different cultures behave differently? Wow, I had no idea!Originally Posted by jonvn

We are all better people by that enlighting statement about culture... Who knew?
But just for the record... NO, I would not go to Japan just to go see TDR. There is so much more to Japan...the country, the people, traditions, technology etc etc etc.... then TDR!!! just like icing on the proverbial cake.

10-24-2005 09:11 PM #34You're just stating the only good part about DLR. (lol kinda excessive, I know.) IF you say that POTC, Space Mtn, New Firework, and exterior buildings of Fantasyland are better at DL, then I can say that Pooh, Electrical Parade Dreamlights (but they did have Fantillusions night-time parade since they couldn't fit Fantasmic, and I LOVED Fantillusions more than Fantasmic), Dreams on Parade (I think the Best day-time parade ever), Christmas Fantasy event, Halloween event, Blazing Rhythm during summer, Disney Magic in the Sky fireworks, and many other countless things that doesn't exist at DL. And don't even get me started on comparing DCA and TDS... (Yes, I HAVE been to WDW, TDR, and DLR and TDR was superior)

You forgot the TDL Hunny Hunt vrs DL's Adventures of Pooh... That will get them going... and thanks! I finally know of another person who thinks Fantillusion! was indeed better than Fantasmic! and may I add...DLP did not deserve the 50% of it they got.

I don't concern myself with which park/resort has it better.
I just enjoy all of them and all the unique and different things they have to offer.

You know? So do I, but that doesn't mean I can't separate apples from oranges. Or better yet....where the best entertainment and quality can be had for the best price...and it ain't at WDW right now.

That's exactly what Tokyo Disney Resort is; icing on the cake. On my return to Japan I look forward to exploring outside of Tokyo, and have been researching taking a Shinkansen to Osaka or Kyoto for a couple of days, seeing Hakone and Mt. Fuji, and perhaps even staying one night at a traditional Ryokan.

I'll just have to go back next year and fork over another bundle of cash to them, after I learn more Japanese and study up more on their history and culture.
But you can bet I'll be back for one more 3 Day Park Hopper ticket at Tokyo Disney Resort. There was still a lot in DisneySea I didn't see or do; the big theater in American Waterfront, the Paradiso Water Carnival show, some of the smaller C and D Ticket rides, etc. DisneySea has a heck of a lot of rides and shows packed in that brand new park, with a massive Tower Of Terror on the way and opening before my next visit. I also missed their Jungle Cruise and Small World cause they were closed for rehab, and I never did spend as much time in Westernland as I would have liked.
Now that I'm over the shock that they really do kick our behinds when it comes to operating a Disneyland and Disney Resort, I look forward to soaking in the details and nuances of their Parks and their fantastic customer service.

I agree about BraviSEAmo. It was pretty and big and splashy, but it didn't knock me off my feet like I was expecting. Perhaps part of the problem was that I didn't understand the Japanese dialogue, but from the English guidemap description the plotline wasn't exactly War & Peace, so I don't think that was the real reason.

And their Disneyland fireworks were a real throwback to the 20th century, just like Disneyland's Fantasy In The Sky from 1956 through 1999.
But those are minor quibbles when the Resort is looked at as a whole. And after BraviSEAmo was over, we all kind of looked at each other for a second, shrugged our shoulders, and then ran back inside the volcano to get another ride on Journey To The Center Of The Earth while the Standby before the show's crowds got there first.

Most people have that impression of BraviSEAmo!. You are not alone... they expect razzle dazzle when in fact it is a very sedated love story type show... Then if you catch it during windy days, it's even worst because the little pyro they use gets reduced due to winds, making the show even more dull. However, I do *love* the show's score, and the fire bird is an impressive piece of work.
As for your return trip to Japan... yes, do fly into Kansai or Centrair Airports and take the Shinkansen back to Tokyo just for the fun of it. Fuji and Hakone are a must! Hakone is gorgeous. And while you are there in Osaka, stop by Universal Studios Japan and see them kick Universal Hollywood's backs as that theme park is the best operated Universal park on Earth, and much better than Orlando's as well.
