The thing that really made us laugh in Stormrider was when our "hotshot" pilot was introduced, and he was a white guy, clearly supposed to be American, and he came out from underneath the aircraft with a sloppy uniform, eating a giant sandwich and talking with his mouth full. That's apparently the stereotype WDI used to quickly communicate to Japanese audiences that your pilot will be a wild and wooly American who won't follow the rules and may put you in danger during the flight. We laughed!
But what made it better was that the row of Japanese folks in front of us, cautiously looked back at us during that segment, as if they were thinking "Uh-oh, we just got caught making fun of Americans, and there's a whole row of 'em sitting behind us in this ride!". It was great, and none of us were PC enough or sensitive enough to be offended by that American stereotype. We laughed out loud at ourselves, and you could tell people sitting around us were relieved.
Port Discovery was very nicely decorated, with lots of kinetic motion from different ride vehicles and props, and I got a kick out of the bubbles in the lagoon that made it look like there were departing submarines leaving this research base. DisneySea was full of little effects like that, all going off and happening all around you. Some you noticed immediately, and some you didn't catch until the second or third time you walked through an area. I wish DCA had that level of detail. Hopefully this "Placemaking" thing will add in those layers of detail and love to DCA, with plenty of eye candy to keep you entertained even after you've already walked through an area a few times before.

Maybe that Barry Bedford site? It would be hard to videotape however, because it is a simulator like Star Tours and it's dark in the cabin most of the time. The pre-show might be interesting to see on tape, but again the CM's only speak Japanese during the pre-show so your left just sort of watching the cool mechanical props and special effects.

Like Star Tours...do you find yourself getting or feeling any motion sickness? The more I ride this (Star Tours) the more I feel myself getting ill.

I'll check around, see what I can find on this ride.MouseInfo Moderator

That is one of TDS' niftiest little details... really cool and interesting and it took me almost two years after the park opened it for me to notice it!!

You will not be allowed to even hold your camera on your lap under any circumstances. However, there has been promotional clips that have featured seconds from the ride, but I could not even begin to tell you where to find them now.

The front of the simulator is designed to look as if you were looking out of a huge window in front of you. Think Vegas' Star Trek Experience simulation in a much bigger scale.Like Star Tours...do you find yourself getting or feeling any motion sickness? Cinder, I can probably dig up some highlights of the attraction. I do have footage of the pre-show introduction that I taped during pre-opening previews. They don't even allow filming of that now these days. I'll let you know what I can get to give you an idea of the ride.
Hmm, a couple weeks ago they had a regular show on Disney Channel Japan that took place at TDS. They showed at least 75% of the StormRider ridethrough. I got it on videotape. However, I don't have a digital recorder.
