Hey, I'm going to be at WDW for new year's eve and was wondering where the best New Year's Eve fireworks show is at. Any opinions?

Re: NYE Fireworks?
My personal favorite is Illuminations at EPCOT...just find a place early!

Re: NYE Fireworks?
We did Illuminations last year and really enjoyed it. Of course, it was pouring all day so by midnight the park was pretty much dead. We walked up to the water edge about 2 minutes before the fireworks started. We were soaking wet, but the fireworks were still great!

Re: NYE Fireworks?
Go to Illuminations this year Sgt Fox. This year they are doing something a little different and shooting off pyro from each country. The NYE after show is already the best, but add that little kicker, should be one hell of a night.
Just get there early!

Re: NYE Fireworks?
Lots of special offerings New Year's Eve. They do these special shows on 7/4 and 12/31, this will be my 2nd year at WDW New Years Eve.
Illuminations will conclude and follow with a holiday segment immidiately afterwards, you'll get two chances at 7:30 and 11:40
Disney MGM Studios will run the old Sorcery in the Sky show at 11:50.
Magic Kingdom will show the best of the new as well as of the old. Wishes will be at 8:30, and Fantasy in the Sky will be at midnight!
Of course Magic KIngdom will also do runs of Spectromagic, and Disney MGM will do runs of Fantasmic.
My suggestion, see the special Illuminations! If you have time bounce around, it's fun to see the old shows, and only one of two nights during the year they do them. My preference is still Sorcery in the Sky for a 2nd choice!
Save the regular stuff for non New Years Eve nights, since they are always there, such as Wishes, Spectromagic, and Fantasmic.Last edited by DLMAGICDARREN; 12-22-2003 at 12:33 PM.

Re: NYE Fireworks?
My sister and I went to Epcot last year on NYE for Illuminations. It started raining at about 7:30 pm (it was beautiful all day though). They were going to do two shows of Illuminations one at about 7:30 and one at 11:40 with a countdown at mid-night. Illuminations is my favorite fireworks show at WDW so I was disappointed when it started raining. We left at about 8 pm and it rained for the rest of the night.
The park was VERY crowded. FP for Test track was reading 9:30 PM when we walked by it at 11am! Lockers were sold at by 10:30. We had fun though and enjoyed the day until it started downpouring.

Sorcery in the Sky at MGM Studios is really good, but I recommend Illuminations instead. It's a lot better show.

Re: NYE Fireworks?
Consensus seems to be Illuminations! I'll have to do that one. Now, any reccomendations on viewing spots? I haven't seen Illuminations yet...

Re: NYE Fireworks?
I know this is really late, but I saw Sorcery In The Sky last year. It was AMAZING! So much pyro going off for the finale, I swear I could NOT see the sky for what seemed like a couple minutes. It was so amazing. Glad I have a video to look at and just glimpse in awe at how amazing it was. - The WeirdOne

Oh, and Japan makes a great choice in my opinion. I've seen the show from every country and I find the Japan to be my favorite. - The WeirdOne
