    The Pain of Summit Plummet

Have you gone down Summit Plummet at WDW's Blizzard Beach? If yes, were you in huge amounts of pain after? Did you get the world's worst wedgie? Should it be called Disney's Water Torture Ride?

On a recent visit to Blizzard Beach, I forced myself to go on this water slide. First, I was scared, it was so high up there that the wind was almost violent. Once I started going down the slide, I began thinking, "Hey, maybe this isn't so bad. It'll be over before I know it." Then the pain began . . . .

Terrible water jets, which are meant to slow the slider to a stop, pelted my back. It seemed to go on forever. And the wedgie, well, that's just embarassing.

When I got off, I had red welts on my shoulder blades and noticed others with red marks on their backs too (obvious victims of Summit Plummet?). For the rest of that day and the next, I could not let anything touch my back, the skin felt too bruised.

Just wondering, what has your experience been?

Wow. Thanks for bringing back bad childhood memories. While I haven't been on THIS, I have been on similar, when I was a kid. It was like an enema.

I love Summit Plummet, but yes, it DOES beat you up a bit. You gotta realize, though, that you're traveling at 60mph with nothing between you and the fiberglass but a thin sheet of water! The thing that freaks me, is that I think I'm never going to stop, and hit the walll! earseek earseek earseek

That is a great description--funny and apt!

I went on Summit Plummet once...that was enough.

I didn't get to see any bikini "oops" moments either (almost, but not quite).

I've never been on Summit Plummet, and I maybe never will.

It's fun, yet scarry. Very fast too...almost over before it begins...

Another thing about it, I can always tell how crowded Blizzard Beach is, just by seeing how crowded the stairway to Summit is.

The family raft ride was fun.

I was freezing and laughing at the same time!

That is a good one, better than Typhoon Lagoon's version.

My favorite part of Typhoon Lagoon was the wave pool.
