The Suites at Disney All Star Music did not open today as planned.
Apparently, they're not finished. Guests with reservations are being offer either 2 regular rooms, an "upgrade" to Fort Wilderness cabins, or a full refund.
Deb Wills from AllEars was one of those turned away. www.wdwig.com for more details on her experience.

Thank you for sharing.

Welcome.
It's really troubling the way it seems to be playing out. Deb Wills is well known and by no means an unfriendly or cranky-pants type person. Nor is she ever unprepared. She's getting gyped by Disney and it's sad

I am suprised no one knew they weren't ready before she was supposed to stay there.

It seems like a big debacle in general.
Which is sad, because these new Suites doing well are supposedly the key in getting the other half of Pop Century completed. If they sell out, it would show a need for more value priced suites and thus a reason to build, or rather finish, the first half of the Century at Pop.
If it was just some random person I'd not be so concerned, but Deb is a prominent figure in WDW Fandom. If she's soured on the whole idea, they'll lose a lot of people booking those rooms.

06-05-2006 09:43 AM #7Well, the article says that they're saying they should be open by Wednesday. Not to be an apologist for Disney, but if they're that close, it sounds like they were probably still working as best they could to get it done, with the hopes they'd make it in time--which is probably why they didn't notify anyone in advance.

More like an oops.
But aren't these people being offered free upgrades? If that's the case, then it's not a bad thing for them at all.You may contact me via jonvn@nadelberg.com.

Probably just too humid in Orlando for the paint to dry.

06-05-2006 11:58 AM #10Please tell us about the cabins at Wilderness Lodge. Last time we were at the WDW we took a long walk around the area and it is so peaceful and quiet. It seemed that the cabins were for large families, what are the amenities, how far from the shuttle bus to the parks? give us the dirt (haha!)
