Its sad to see that lately Disney can not come up with simple things as a new parade. Instead it has gotten to the point of things being cloned and rehashed to fit a promotion.

according to the story WDW's Magic Kingdom parade will loose the globe floats and be reconfigured. Then one of Tokyos music scores will be added and the name of the parade reworded so that it fits the new campaign.
Meanwhile OLC is contantly creating new elaborate parades and floats that are used for small fun events. They keep the parks fresh. WDW will get pretty much the same parade its had for years with a new song and altered floats.
SAD...............

It was a great parade, but do you think that parade was going to be around forever?
I would like to see the rain parade that they do when it rains. Has anybody seen it?"Use your head! Don't lose your head!"

I don't think they can't come up with a new parade they just don't want to spend the money. Personally, it doesn't really bother me. They are not calling it a new parade. At least they are trying to keep it fresh.
Besides, I have seen pictures and the floats look much better without the snowglobes.

Ignorant comment Nemo. OLC has not lost money. Profits may be a bit down, but profits are profit$. A loss means NO profits. They are NOT in the red. TDR continues to be a very successful resort all around and the level of quality shows in everything they do, even after the slight (and I mean slight as in 1 or 2% ONLY) attendance drop. For your information... Since Jan 1st, TDL alone has presented 6 *different* parades in it's park and that number will swell up to 9 by the end of this year. NO parades at TDS (unless you care to count the lavish Mythica as one parade even if on water) and that is where the attendance problem lies. In the meantime...Disney touts the MK as the most attended theme park on Earth and has the highest 1-day passport price of all DL parks put together. Yet they are giving their guests MUCH less than other DL parks including DLP but excluding HKDL for obvious little reasons...
Sad??

BTW... the floats have recieved a slight refurbishings and some decorative arches and other props have been added to the floats to replace the globes. For example... Mickey's Globe has been replaced by a film strip ornament and such. They are already parading around the Mk daily. However, when I saw it, the old snowglobe float with Peter was still unchanged and the old music still played.
Only once.. just the double decker bus with the characters parading down main Street. Not worth it IMHO. In the case of both HKDL and TDL's rainy day parades, which are very whimsical looking floats, and in TDL's case, have water effects and theming set to a cloud factory... See the pics of that parade if you click the link at the bottom of my post and then click on the "Cool the Heat" album from my albums' menu. Enjoy

Good Pics TDLFAN! I would think that it would be GREAT in WDW since it is so rainy in FL sometimes!
Also what does OLC Stand for?"Use your head! Don't lose your head!"

with all the money that the parks generate there is no excuse for not being able to at least create a new parade. This parade has outlived its cost. They are trying to promote a new campaign with the same things from a campaign that is ending.

I agree with you on the money generated versus what we are getting comment you made above. For me, The saddest part is... Instead of coming up with some "Marketing Made" promotion, they could have capitalized on the 35th anniversary of the MK and come up with something new just for that for yet another year. You do remember when the MK anniversaries used to be celebrated every 5 years... don't you? They have never skiped those celebrations at DL. I guess the MK is a female park since they do not want to make it look older than what it really is... Problem is, the MK today looks it's age and worst! It's dirty.

It sucks but it's not even surprising anymore. We can't even go to MK anymore we end up walking in riding an attraction and then just giving up and leaving because every where you look it is bad show, the castmembers most of the time are doing a poor job, and it's just depressing. But those ticket prices just keep getting higher!!
