Thanks to the always wonderful Laughingplace.com for the link to this story, which has a small blurb about Aladdin perhaps showing up in WDW as well:
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/busin...ss%2Dheadlines
"As for his list of to-comes, Rasulo hinted strongly that the Broadway-style stage show of Aladdin, which has been a hit in California, might find its way to the Central Florida parks."

Aladdin flying to Florida?

Yeah, this makes sense...
Even when I was down there last fall, there were all sorts of rumors about EPCOT getting a "Hyperion Theater," for performing quality stage shows.
Of course EPCOT is also supposed to get a Soarin, a Paradise Pier, a Junior Autopia, a Rainforest Rollercoaster, Time Racers, etv....

The only thing I think Epcot needs is a better Energy Pavilion and MAYBE a Stormraider clone from TDS to compliment The Land and The Living Sea.
You know? Land, Sea, Air.
On topic about Alladin: I wouldn't be surprise if that is what is being added in MGM. That would fit since Hunchback is no longer playing and I seriously doubt they will get rid of The Little Mermaid show or the Beauty and The Beast one.Avatars provided by Gaia

After all, Disney MGM is the "show" park, it has empty space from Hunchback, and most importantly that space sits on New York Street, what better place to build a Broadyway type theater?
In Epcot I don't see where they could add it that would make any sense, theme wise. Plus Epcot just added Mission Space (opening soon) and has many things as potential projects lined up for afterwards.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.Darren

How about a theatre in the Morocco pavilion? Aladdin and jasmine already make appearances at that part of Epcot.

True, and I've heard that case before, but number one, I don't know if there's room to add a major theater to Morrocco, but there's a much more important reason I don't see this happening.
Just as in DCA, if Aladdin does come to WDW it will likely play for years, but not forever. So theaters are not themed to the current show playing, but rather the atmosphere where it it playing. The theater would not likely be themed whatoever to the actual Aladdin show, but to a Broadway theater, hence it makes more sense to me in Disney MGM. That way they have the infustructure ready for years down the road when a new show would replace it, just as they have DCA's Hyperian therater set up for, down the road.Darren

05-24-2003 02:14 PM #9The only exception would probibly be The Little Mermaid show building since that particular theater looks like you are sitting in an underwater cove.Originally posted by DLMAGICDARREN

True, and also Voyage of the Little Mermaid is not your typical show. With the exception of Ariel, and a brief performance at the end by Eric, the rest of the cast operate puppets, and don't have any lines.
Most of the cast can change as often as necessarry and the audience never knows it.
Still the same type setup used to exist in the Magic Kingdom with the Legend of the Lion King, and that was transformed into the new theater for the upcoming 3d attraction, Mickey's Philharmaic, so I imagine one day Arie's theater will to be up-dated to another show, but not in the near future.Darren
