Animated Faces for Characters at WDW

I'm starting to think this technology has been around for a while but was just never tested HERE in the US. They probably started at smaller venues just to see if it would work and then gradually work their way to the theme parks.

Laughing Place has an interesting video. Apparently, with the redesign, Donald's hat is removable. In the video, it flies off and hits Minnie. With the new heads, the CM is able to react to the impact and stage blooper on the fly.

Keep an eye out for when Donald mocks Minnie in that video as well. It's a great moment and a very nice example as to how the new heads adds to the characters personality.

^Yeah I didn't even think about that but it makes sense that the character hats be easily removed. Those heads are a lot more expensive than the regular ones so it's smart that they were designed with utility in mind.
