    A Tribute to Toad

Ten years ago today, Mr. Toad took his last wild ride in Florida. As a tribute to one of the greatest dark rides ever built, I have for you two ride-thrus of the attraction. One is a video of the left track, the other is a video of the right track (depending on which side of the queue you entered in, you got a different ride).

    Left:

Yes, our world has indeed become a world of motion. We have engineered marvels that take us swiftly over land and sea, through the air, and into space itself. And still bolder and better ideas are yet to come. Ideas that will fulfill our age old dream to be free. Free in mind. Free in spirit. Free to follow the distant star of our ancestors to a brighter tomorrow. - World of Motion (1982-1996)

But he LIVES at DL in Anaheim...

In fact, we only had to give up CBJ for Pooh out here. If we had to give up Mr. Toad.... I'd be totally ticked.

Not a very pleasent facade either, IMO.

I think it's tragic that there are Magic Kingdoms out there WITHOUT our good friend, Mr. Toad. I can't imagine going to Disneyland WITHOUT going to hell (not counting riding IASW). It's nice they gave WDW two options for the ride though (but, yes, that facade was dreadful!) The original still is best IMO. And it's just so sad that it is not found elsewhere.
