Smile Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

This is a fantastic event at WDW. We went last year and are going again this year. These special events are great for so many reasons.

    1. The crowd levels are usually less than your normal day crowd levels, so ride lines are short.

    2. Please dress up which is loads of fun to do and see.

    3. Characters. They are everywhere and available for photos and dance parties, etc.

    4. Special extras - The Halloween parade is very cool. It is one of my favorite parades. Also the firework show is fantastic and unique to this event.

    5. CANDY - Wow we got at least 40 pounds of candy trick or treating.

    Party dates in 2010 are: Sept. 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28 and 30; Oct. 1, 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 31; and Nov. 1.

Prices are $59.95 (ages 10+) and $53.95 (ages 3-9) for all dates except Oct. 29 and
    Oct. 31 when tickets cost $64.95 (ages 10+) and $58.95 (ages 3-9). Advance purchase (prior to event day) savings of $6 per ticket are available for the parties on Sept. 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28 and 30; Oct. 1, 3, 7, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24 and 26; and Nov. 1.

Do they (as they have started to here at Disneyland) make an effort to bring out characters for the event that you might not otherwise get to see? We met several villains the past few years at the california event that are rarely seen in the park-- we finally got to pose with Maleficent for example...

There is a castle show multiple times during the party that features Maleficent, Cruella, the Queen, Hook, Frollo, Jafar and the Queen of Hearts. They do a short meet-n-greet following the show.

Other character oddities include the presence of all 7 dwarfs with Snow White throughout the evening, and in past years, Tarzan & Jane.
    Jaleel White does not approve.

I do admit the WDW castle shows are super fun-- great that they have so much entertainment during the hard-ticket halloween party in florida... If I'm ever out there that time of the year I will definitely consider it
