So you're saying people who have a gun and read the Bible (the so-called bigots) can't live in LA, listen to hip hop and date Asian girls?

Obama's comments demonstrated a clear disdain for the people of small town America who most definitely have influence over whether or not he gets elected. Whether you agree with this crass generalization of a group of people's viewpoint or not, they still make up a huge portion of this country and those of us in LA and places like it depend on them for food and manufactured goods.

And it's not surprising he lost PA to Hillary. Hillary actually possesses some rather sharp people skills, unlike Obama who appears to be losing charisma by the day. Hillary possesses an ability to speak off the cuff, Obama clearly needs to be scripted or he falters tremendously. Lots of prolonged "uh"ing and "um"ing.

I think it's endlessly entertaining to watch the Democrats rip each other to shreds ad infinitum. They're only helping McCain.

How a person runs thier campaign is a clear sign of how they will govern, Obama is out-raising Hillary 2 to 1,his campaign is much more organized and overall running a better show. Hillary has displayed her willingness to use Karl ROve-ish tactis to attack her opponants,a "win at any cost" mentality. Its disgusting.

He can "uhh" and "Umm" all he wants, fact of the matter is,he went up against a political giant and won (theres no way she can win at this point). Its clear the GOP wants to run against Hillary because shes an easy target, theyve already demonized her and her husband and shed unite the republicans more than anyone else could.

With that said,I do think the Dem infighting is helping McCain,I agree with you there. Hillary is to blame, she cant win at this point with the pledged delgates, and its highly unlikely the super delegates will override the voice of the people and take away the nomination from a african american, never going to happen. Hillary is destroying the party single handily, she only cares about herself, bottom line.

and since when do you care about politicians saying "umm" or "uhh"? If I remember correctly you supported Bush no? I find it very funny how you criticize Obama and his speaking abililties when you loved Bush! His borderline retardation didnt phase you one bit. Its a joke, really.

I think Obama was making a reasonable point about how frustration over long-term unemployment, economic stagnation and declining opportunity are often manifested through misdirected anger toward ethnic minorities, immigration or various other groups and issues and that in the US this is often channeled through religion and the gun lobby. The causes of their problems aren't any of these things, but these feelings are effectively massaged by the Republican Party so that people end up voting for exactly the kinds of economic policies that have left them in the state they're in because they've been led to believe its the gays, Mexicans, and people trying to take their guns that are destroying their way of life. It's an easy and appealing explanation. Of course, you can't say that...

I do think Hillary is overall a better communicator than Obama. At the beginning of all of this I thought Obama was more appealing, but watching the first debates it was clear that Hillary had a greater handle on policy and whenever the discussion comes down to the specifics of what they would do in office she runs circles around him. Overall I still prefer Obama as I find Hillary a little too coldly cynical, but I think it's very hard to say who would be better in office. If people didn't judge candidates on their likability I think she'd be well in front.

Might as well include Obama's comments in full as well:
"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and -- like a lot of small towns in the Midwest -- the jobs have been gone for 25 years, and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are going to regenerate and they have not. It's not surprising that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment, as a way to explain their frustrations."

Could Obama Pull a Goose Egg in November?

In the Presidential Election of 1972, George McGovern failed to win in all but one of the fifty states. The state he won? Nope, not even his home state of South Dakota; it was none other than lefty liberal Massachusetts. Now, according to a Survey USA poll done earlier this month, Barack Obama is only leading John McCain by two points in the Bay State; even McGovern won it by nine. Could Barack Obama really get shut out in November?

Now, of course this is all assuming Obama wins the Democratic nomination. But this looks more and more likely despite Hillary Clinton's win in the Pennsylvania primary just days ago. The Democratic Party's foolish primary structure has created a cloud that could eventually rain on their parade come November. If even one of the major swing states had been winner-take-all, Clinton would be cruising on frontrunner status right now. But despite staunch momentum and a retiring Republican President with sub-thirty percent approval ratings, the Democrats still haven't realized just how much they have shot themselves in the foot yet again.
    Much more at the link....

Well, considering this is from "redcountry.com" and he isn't even the nominee yet I'm thinking this is more a Republican wet dream than worth considering at this stage.

I did support Bush (regretfully), but no one spouted and gushed and orgasmed over his charisma and speaking ability. We all knew he couldn't talk.

Obama, however, makes women faint and people just swoon when he talks and everyone talks about how charismatic he is. I have yet to see this charisma in action, that is my point.

Even Hillary Clinton admits Obama has a ton of charisma, I dont think there is anyone on this planet (besides you) who feels Obama lacks charisma.
