GWB is the leader of the RNC. McCain has no choice but to get his endorsement. I think it's a lot better for McCain to get the handshake and endorsement out of the way now rather than doing it in the fall. People forget.
What I find interesting is that the DNC will DEFINITELY go after McCain with pics of him hugging W and handshakes and all. BUT it will be so easy for the McCain camp to come up with the numerous times in the past 8 years that McCain has flat out contradicted W and stood against him. There IS a reason that the conservatives in his own party are so mad at McCain.
So the right wing of the RNC are painting McCain as too liberal and the left wing of the DNC will pain McCain as a W clone. Both are wrong.
Like I said before, I won't vote for him, but I'm not going to lose any sleep if he wins. (actually, I probably will because his high rise condo is within spitting distance of my office and house. If he becomes president, the secret service alone will make this whole neighborhood nuts!)

Since I just typed a big thing on this on another board... I'll just paraphrase it here.
What's your thoughts?
Hillary cannot mathematically win... it is pretty much (she ain't gettin 62% of the remaining states) impossible for her to over take Obamas delegate count. Going into the convention, the people of the democratic party will have voted for Obama. Hillarys campaign is saying things like "the delegate vote does not matter, the superdelegates will vote for who they think will win"...
Is it not... disgusting... and... unamerican to flat out proclaim that the peoples vote does not matter??

Well I can't think of anyone more fair and more American than the Clintons. I mean, it's not like either one of them have ever broken the law.

Which is ironic because who was screaming that the popular vote was ignored in the '00 and '04 elections?
What is really fascinating is the role Michigan and Florida have in this. If the Dems allow those 2 states to have a "do over" after going against DNC rules and holding their delegate election too early, it will be a complete travesty. Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot! And Hillary still only got about 60% of the vote! The Dems prove once again that their worst enemy has been, and always will be, themselves.
I saw the Today show this morning and watching the DNC leader try and explain what may or may not happen with Michigan and Florida and try to portray the super delegates as NOT "the elite" was laughable. How can anyone follow these boobs?

Personally, I don't like Hilary, Obama, or McCain. They all have huge amount of negatives, the dems fight dirty, and McCain hates me. This is going to be a tough call for me in november. I will probably vote for the Dem. nomination, though, because I can't vote for someone who doesn't respect me as an individual.

Check this link out. http://www.slate.com/features/delegatecounter/
A sobering thought. Hillary would have to win the rest of the 12 primary states AND win by an almost 62% majority to overtake Obama in delegates. In each and every state.
Anyone think she'll do that? Seriously? Why can't the DNC make these elections winner take all?
