According to my friend's research paper presentation on why Global Warming doesn't exist, human's actually only account for about 5% of the CO2 in the atmosphere. The rest happens naturally.

Yes, but those covers are made by polluting factories, with non-green electricity, from non-renewable resources, by workers who drive to work in polluting cars.
Just because we're at war, doesn't mean we can't be civilised...

Living like the Amish? No cars, no electricity, nothing modern? The only waste a horse and buggy emit is fertilizer for the crops. Honestly, just about everything including using the computer to type this post is affecting the environment in some way.
You remind me of the babe...

Here's another sentence to increase my carbon footprint.

What does work?
Well, we can make solar panels by electroplating semi-conductors... which if we want to produce enough of to provied our current electrical needs would result in producing enough toxic solvants to cover the contiguous 48 16 feet deep.
Nuclear.... If we don't mind the risk of radioactive release and all the toxic waste. (Personally, I think this is the best option).
Hybrids can't be a large scale solution because rare earth metals are required to make the batteries and there is not nearly enough available to produce enough batteries to replace a significant number of vehicles on the roads.
Smaller cars, smaller houses, better insulation, hanging the clothes out to dry, public transportation... Lots of things we are unlikely to do.
Dropping the population by 90% would help.... Any volunteers?
On the up side, evidence is mounting that the 1970s predictions of a coming ice age may be more accurate, then the global warming predictions. We're heating up the land, but the oceans may be getting colder. Maybe man's release of greenhouse gasses and paving over the land creating heat islands is just slowing it down the ice age. Maybe.

Sell your cars, ride a bike, don't exhale.
