After nearly 13 years of absence, Captain Eo returns to Disneyland embarking willing passengers on a rock space journey to the far reaches of space.
A technological wonder when it opened at Disneyland on September 18, 1986, the return of Eo is a bitter sweet one for fans of the late Michael Jackson whose unique music and entertaining choreography forever cement this attraction as a pop cultural phenomenon.

Fun Facts
- This attraction originally opened at Disneyland on September 18, 1986 and closed on April 7, 1997. It also opened at Epcot on September 12, 1986, Tokyo Disneyland on March 20, 1987, and Disneyland Paris on April 12, 1992.
- The attraction was replaced in 1998 by Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. As a tribute to Captain Eo, the startup sound of the shrinking ray in the show is the same sound effect used for the startup of Captain EO’s spaceship.
- Before its existence as the Magic Eye Theater, this location was also home to the Tomorrowland Terrace where live entertainment and musical acts performed.
