Imagineer and Disney Legend Marc Davis designed this attraction in the 1960s. The large scale project would have encompassed a large part of the western side of the park and included an indoor/outdoor flume (partially realized later in the form of Splash Mountain).

Disney artist Mary Blair also helped realize the idea with a series of different pieces of concept art in her coloful notable style.
