Are you excited for the Disneyland return of the MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE?
A lot of times when news hits the Disney social media spheres and causes mini hysteria it rarely gets mass mainstream coverage but when it comes to the Main Street Electrical Parade, all bets are off. The news hit major outlets nationwide and became a talking point outside of the typical online fan outlets.
For those who missed it, Disney confirmed last week rumors of the return to Disneyland of the spectacular festival pageant of nightime magic and imagination which dazzles in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds.
The Main Street Electrical Parade will make its return in a “limited engagement” in early 2017.
Meanwhile, the PAINT THE NIGHT parade, which was created specifically for Disneyland 60th Anniversary, will be ending its run temporarily after Labor Day but will return on select nights during the holiday season later this year. It is expected that the parade will make seasonal returns in the future following the next “final” farewell to the Main Street Electrical parade at Disneyland.
That means that the final chance to see the Main Street Electrical Parade parade at its current home at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World will be October 9, 2016. For those looking to get a last look on the East Coast, Disney cautions that the parade will NOT appear during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. Walt Disney World guests interested in seeing the parade before it departs on Oct. 9 should check for the latest parade dates and times on WaltDisneyWorld.com or in the My Disney Experience app.
The original Main Street Electrical Parade debuted at Disneyland in 1972 and ended its initial run with a “farewell season” in 1996. It returned in 2001 to the Disneyland Resort as Disney’s Electrical Parade before departing in 2010 to its current home at the Walt Disney World Resort.
