REVIEW: High-energy dance battles daily at El Capitan Theatre for CARS 3 engagement

When it comes to first-run movies under the Disney umbrella, the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is unmatched in providing the ultimate cinematic experience and for the current engagement of CARS 3, they’ve continued to pull all the stops.

We were invited to check out what’s going on at the classic movie palace and found a super-charged event that starts well before the movie even begins thanks in part to a fun little dance battle pre-show. Set to an energetic score, Disney has assembled a talented group of performers to pull of some entertaining moves live on stage including BMX freestyle, hoops, dancing, and more with all of it made more dazzling with LED motion imagery.

It’s pretty awesome to see all the careful orchestration come to life on the stage here and although none of the stunts are death-defying by any means it’s still a pretty fun way to get amped up for the film. The super-charge run of Disney-Pixar’s newest outing promises to beat anything your local cineplex is going to offer.

Of course, you also get to see CAR 3 itself and its animated short LOU and even this experience is given a posh touch with its presentation in both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies which offer some of the most vibrant and crisp digital projection and audio experiences available today in cinema.

Unfortunately no behind-the-scenes display/exhibit downstairs for this one but next door you can find yourself the featured Finish Line Sundae which includes a scoop of Strawberry Ice Cream, Sweet Pineapple Topping, and Whipped Cream topped with fresh-made Crunch waffle cone that’s been dipped in Ghirardelli chocolate ($13.95). It comes with a limited edition CARS 3 NOW PLAYING Pin. A selection of Cars merchandise is also available in the Studio Store.
