2018 San Diego Comic-Con: Sunday’s Disney-related events!
The 2018 San Diego Comic-Con is just almost here today we have a look at the Sunday Schedule of Events for July 22, 2018. There’s a few panels that fall under the Disney umbrella and there’s also a few other goings on that Disney fans will enjoy, too.
Highlights include: Marvel Animation Presents; Women of Marvel; and Creating a Walt Disney Comic Story.
There’s a few other goings on that Disney fans might enjoy, including: The Origin of Jack Kirby’s Black Panther; Disney Manga!; and Cartoon Voices II.
Below are details about some of the events with tangential Disney appeal.
Ever wonder how pros go about creating new comic stories? 26-year veteran Disney comics creators Patrick and Shelly Block will create an actual short Donald Duck story with audience participation in this creative workshop. Learn firsthand how the Blocks come up with story ideas, plot out their tales, create a good story climax, and lay out a story idea so that it comes to life. This popular workshop is guaranteed to bring a chuckle or two, as terrible things are bound to happen when Donald Duck and his nephews are involved! All ages are invited. Come and join the fun!

Get all the information you need to build your own fully functional droid character from the Star Wars universe. Moderator Victor Franco and panelists Mike Senna, Michael McMaster, William Miyamoto, Chris Romines, and Thomas Roeoesli share their knowledge and expertise to help your build a success.

Animation voice director Mark Evanier gathers another stageful of the top actors who speak for animated characters to demonstrate their skills. Appearing will be Elle Newlands (Adventure Time, Final Fantasy), Kiff Vandenheuvel (Star Wars Forces of Destiny, World of Warcraft), Vanessa Marshall (Star Wars Rebels, Young Justice), André Sogliuzzo (Transformers: Robots in Disguise, World of Warcraft) and Dino Andrade (World of Warcraft, Batman: Arkham Asylum). There will also be a few surprises, and the actors will destroy a much-loved fairy tale with a live, unrehearsed reading.

Panelists include John D. Callison (award-winning cosplayer and founder of Over30Cosplay), Richard Cetrone (stunt coordinator and actor best known for his work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Solo: A Star Wars Story,Captain America: Civil War, 300), Ryan Wells (cosplayer master level costumer), Sherman Blakeley (award winning cosplayer, best known for Luke Cage and The Green Mile), Bernie Bergman (moderator, owner of Nerds Like Us), Victoria V. Ikerd-Schreiter (professional Wonder Woman double), and Mary Sorenson Schwacher (award-winning cosplayer). Topics will include celebrating the history of comic culture, couples cosplay ideas, and combating negative, age-related stereotypes. Plus, tips on costume choice, dating and family, social media/marketing age awareness, and how to combat bullying in your community. Panel will include costume examples.

Disney Comics presents a look at recent and upcoming comics showcasing powerful female characters from Disney and Star Wars. Oh My Disney’s Michelle Lema leads a discussion with panelists Delilah S. Dawson (author, Star Wars Adventures, Star Wars Forces of Destiny), Amy Mebberson (author/artist, Disney Princess comic strips), Cecil Castellucci (author, Moving Target: A Princess Leia Adventure), Jody Houser (author, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny), and Katie Cook(author, Tangled: The Series comics) discuss the growing importance of female characters and authors in the comics industry and the making of comics for kids.

FX’s Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller, a man who believed himself to be schizophrenic only to discover that he may actually be the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen. Along with a team of other extraordinarily gifted people, David learned to accept his true self and set out to defeat the Shadow King, who was on a path to attaining infinite and world-ending power. In season 2, a series of mind-bending twists and turns called into question who is the hero and who is the villain.
