• Indiana Jones Adventure attraction celebrates 20th anniversary with AP-exclusive after-hours party

Tonight, Annual Passholders were welcomed into Disneyland well after its closing hours to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction at Disneyland. It's been exactly two decades exactly to the date since the popular attraction opened and Disney kicked off it off with a fun after-hours party.

As part of the welcome packet, AP holders were given a souvenir map and schedule that also included a reproduction or the original Maraglific decoder cards to use inside the attraction's queue.

Two discussion panels were hosted during the evening with Disney Imagineer Tony Baxter who gave insights into the creation of the attraction with moderator Tim O'Day. The offering was surprisingly entertaining and insightful with tons of great old footage thrown in including concepting videos, news reports, and lots of old promo material.

Most of the west side of the park was open including attractions in Adventureland, Frontierland and New Orleans Square. Periodically, Indy himself would run through the streets with a small entertainment piece staged in the Tarzan Treehouse.

Live entertainment rocked the streets of Adventureland in the form of a band while roaming entertainment in the form of gypsy sisters greeted the crowds.

We got to the parks a little before the start of the event so following our recap we will also take a quick look at the unwrapped new Sleeping Beauty Castle and a few other quick updates that we missed in our last pictorial!

Obviously riding the attraction was in order for its actual 20th anniversary! Indiana Jones Adventure was the last major new E-Ticket to open at the park. It opened in 1995!

    Buckle up!

    Wisdom? Fortune? Youth?

    This way!

I believe this translates to DON'T STEP ON THE MOME WRATHS.

    No, not really.

Tony Baxter and Tim O'Day were part of a fun and interesting look back at the Indiana Jones Advneture.

    Live entertainment in Adventureland.

This guy was on the ball. Literally!

There was special lighting all around the open areas of the park, you can see the brightly lit Tarzan's Treehouse in the background. Special Indy moments happened here throughout the evening.

Madam Mara also roamed the streets of Adventureland helping give guests insights into their future.

    Ooga Chaka, ooga chaka.
