Following industry trends, the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World have officially unveiled the long-rumored demand-based pricing structure for the theme park admission ticket prices.

So not all tickets are created equal? Not anymore.

The new structure features pricing tiers which basically rank the cost of admission based on expected crowds. The busier it’s expected, the more expensive the ticket. Here’s the new pricing for Disneyland Resort tickets:

  • VALUE ($95 1-park / $155 hopper) — Most Monday – Thursday tickets
  • REGULAR ($105 1-park / $160 hopper) — Most Friday – Sunday tickets
  • PEAK ($119 1-park / $169 hopper) — Holiday and/or special events.

For now, the changes only apply to 1-day tickets but it is expected that the scheme could eventually be expanded to the full base of ticket offerings.

Universal Studios Hollywood recently updated their ticket pricing with a similar idea, charging guests less if they purchase their park tickets in advance of their visit.
