It’s never too early to start talking about the holidays. Sure, just an hour ago we were talking about Halloween. It’s fine. This time, we’re talking about Mariah Carey.

Look, you’re either in the Mariah Carey fan-boat or you’re not. You might not be but one thing is certain, you’ve caught yourself at one point or another at the end of the year listening to, humming along with, or singing to yourself the inescapable tune of “All I Want For Christmas.

As if having one of the most played songs for 3 months of the year EVERY YEAR isn’t enough, Mariah Carey is currently producing a new animated short film with Universal that is inspired by–and based on–the song. Carey will narrate the story which is aimed at being a new holiday classic.

The film features the voices of Mariah Carey (Mariah Carey: Around the World, Precious), Breanna Yde (School of Rock, The Haunted Hathaways), Henry Winkler (Happy Days, Royal Pains), Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls, Party of Five), Phil Morris (Smallville, Seinfeld), Laya Hayes (Doc McStuffins, Sister Code) and Keiko Agena (Gilmore Girls, Transformers: Dark of the Moon).

“Like the song itself, Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ is destined to become an enduring family holiday classic,” said Glenn Ross, general manager and executive vice president, Universal 1440 Entertainment. “It is packed with family fun, holiday spirit, poignant moments – and of course, Mariah Carey!”
