So we already knew that the upcoming live-action Winnie the Pooh flick is going to be a retrospective approach from the perspective of an adult Christopher Robin looking back on his youth. But now, courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, we know that none other than Ewan McGreggor is reportedly set to star as the boy who once led the crew of the Hundred Acre Wood.

Disney is in the middle of a seemingly lucrative era of taking classic animated films and re-imagining them as live-action reboots. Other already-announced adaptations include THE LITTLE MERMAID, MULAN, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, CRUELLA, TINKER BELL, and DUMBO as well as sequels to existing features including MALEFICENT 2 and THE JUNGLE BOOK 2. Disney raked it in at the box office this year with the live-action reboot of the the animated classic BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and can probably expect more of the same in 2019 when they release the live-action THE LION KING.
